thanks! I'm focusing on the US, but it's really interesting to see a similar network in the UK to give some context!

sure! two people from nnaf (the official twitter account and the director) reached out to me on twitter and told me to email them about data. I emailed them but didn't hear back. it's only been about a week or two but I'm not quite sure how to proceed.

Toasties who are involved in abortion funds! I want to hear from you!

I'm a PhD student in bioethics and health policy and I want to write my dissertation about abortion funds. Surprisingly, there has been zero academic work on this topic (as far as I can tell-- if you know of some, let me know!). Because of that, there's a ton of different questions and ways I could go about doing this. Ultimately, though, what I want is for this work to be useful to both the funds, NNAF, and the movement as a whole (I know, I'm naive and an optimist about the power of a dissertation, call me crazy). Anyway, I'd love to hear from you about what you think I should study, what questions you think need answering, what kinds of data is or should be available, etc. I'm more interested in qualitative work than quantitative, but part of it can be quantitative. At the moment I'm thinking about doing one portion on quant data (if I can get access to intake data), but mostly I want to focus on the experiences of people involved in abortion funds (on both sides of the equation if possible). I know this is rambling and a bit incoherent, but let me know what you think! you can reply here, or if you want to write privately, I can give you my email address/contact info.

I'd very much like to be added to this. Should I make a slack account first? How does this all work? (I'm also @abigmess on twitter)

My parents are foreign and I'm not sure they understood what was age appropriate reading. I was a voracious reader so my parents just kept giving me more books to read that in hindsight were both inappropriate and far too advanced for me. I'm not sure I understood any of it! For example, I read Jane Eyre in 2 days when I was 8 years old. What the hell? I also read every holocaust book I could get my hands on in the 4th grade and that was...not smart.
