Rick: The apology is not as wide reaching as LGBTQ2 Canadians for the persecution and injustices they have suffered. Twits from American or Canadian leaders can only say so much. Canadian media isn't faulted for generating false news like in the USA. Thus: Canadian Press says "Canadians who were criminally charged or fired from the military or Canada’s civil service because of their sexual orientation" will receive a formal apology from the prime minister on the House of Commons (representatives) before the end of month.. http://ottawacitizen.com/news/politics/apology-to...

John and Fred: As said in an earlier thread, its highly probable that Rick is going to need financial support. Almost a dozen gave a thumbs up to my stating that "I'm ready to help". G

Jay, you echo my own apprehension. From Ian's report [above], it is obvious when Rick and ourselves are reconnected, he's going to need more than emotional support. I for one have been thinking about a $ contribution. G.

According to the interactive map on Ballotpedia's webpage https://ballotpedia.org/Local_government_response... Elmore Co was issuing licenses in 2015. They stopped issuing them in January 2016 https://www.reuters.com/article/alabama-gaymarria...
{Elmore Co is next to Autauga].

Rick, not as much progress as thought. Elmore Co [pop 79303], where former lawyer John Enslen remains a 'march-to-his-own-drummer' probate judge, does not issue marriage licenses. <a href="http://.http://www.elmoreco.org/default.asp?ID=157" target="_blank">.http://www.elmoreco.org/default.asp?ID=157
Elmore Co inclusion notches the non conforming counties' population to 6%.

These counties' residents constitute 4% of the state population. Two of the seven reluctant Alabama probate judges are lawyers.

There's a problem with Canada's transgender rights bill says Canadian Senator: The Bill does not provide explicit protection in the amendments to the Bill of Rights and to the Criminal Code for those who are transgendered. . http://www.torontosun.com/2017/06/17/the-big-prob...

Rick - Re you header ;Nationwide: On June 15 2017 an amendment to the Canadian Bill of Rights (1960) protecting transgender persons at the federal level was approved by the Senate unamended from the version that passed the House of Commons. The change will soon become law when the Governor General gives "Royal Assent", similar to the USA president assenting to legislation approved by Congress.
The Canadian Bill of Rights effects only areas of federal jurisdiction. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982) which effects areas of federal, provincial and territorial jurisdiction has not changed. Related changes were handled by each province/territory as noted by you.. The Bill of Rights requires the Commons, Senate and Governor General to agree to Amend. The Charter requires consent of the Commons, and Senate; as well as consent of the provinces per the constitutional amending formula, and the Governor General to agree to Amend. http://www.parl.ca/LegisInfo/BillDetails.aspx?bil...

EXCUSES DISMISSED
The Justices observe that many of the probate judges were not lawyers by background, and would rely of the former Chief Justice's direction. Of the dozen hold-outs, no more than a third are lawyers by background, When/if they read this text, hopefully they will be realize that District Federal Judge Callie Granade's orders, affirmed by the 11 Circuit Court of Appeal are the correct interpretation of the law and Roy Moore's ignoring them at will was unethical. The Court of the Judiciary and the Judicial Inquiry Commission's work [for the most part] was affirmed. Discredited, suspended without pay, never to serve on the judiciary again. Bye!
