Ishmael, Moby Dick
Now we learn that Harry Reid has cut a deal with the ChiComs to build a solar plant on this very ground. By what authority did he cut this deal for OUR land?
The order of the day is Repel All Boarders. Every sailor knows there is no retreat. You either sail or sink, and we leave that up to God.
I never contacted Google to tell them anything. They screwed me and my family, personally, through their corporate "policy".
My stance on Google is purely personal. I neither know nor care what effect it has on them. I refuse to associate with them purely for my own principles. I only have to account to God for MY actions, but since I do have to account to Him...I'd like my conscience to be as clean and clear as possible. That is the sole motivator of 99% of my actions and opinions.
You're probably not much different in that regard, and so I can not fault you one iota for your feelings or your actions. Whether it has any impact on Mozilla or not is not really the issue. I'm just pointing out that it isn't going to affect them at all. You'd still be doing the moral thing in my not so humble opinion...and that is why I'm also looking for viable alternatives.
They can come, but they won't like what they find.
If you're serious about this, research the corporate histories well.
I have to say, though, that a "boycott" of a free product doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Even if several million people do it, it isn't going to affect Mozilla one way or another. I heard a radio personality say the other day, "Evil wins this one. There is no recourse". I think he had a point.
