Ash, thanks for using Filtrbox - I saw your comment and wanted to provide a few pieces of info.

1. The Filtrbox dashboard provides free accounts with 15 days of article history so you can see recent articles and activity for your Filtrs. Be sure to set the list sorting by date (under the sort tab) to see the newest articles at the top. You can sort by a number of criteria in the dashboard.

2. After the 15 days, the articles that are older are older than that are no longer displayed in your dashboard view, so this may explain why you see things "filter out".

3. You should be getting Daily Briefing emails in the morning with new articles found for your Filtrs - if you aren't seeing the emails but see new content in your dashboard please contact support@filtrbox.com and we'll investigate further for you. We can check for email bounces, etc.

4. If you simply aren't getting the results you'd expect, lets look at your Filtr. Do you have "must contain" or "any of these words" entries that would restrict the results? Try using quotes around "identity management" to search for that exact phrase instead of searching for Identity +Management.

I would argue that most web applications do not charge enough for their products. You just have to make it EASY to get started and experience the value of the service, which includes making the pricing easy to understand. www.wufoo.com is a great example for me as we use it all the time and are paying customers. They made it dead simple to give it shot and we became hooked on the service. To Bill's point, they probably only needed to provide a trial and not a freemium offering to land our business.

With regards to Aziz's point, I believe the value your product brings to the customer should improve over time, not just your operating margins. Either raising prices or providing additional tiers of service are ways to capitalize on your product's evolution. Keeping in mind you have to stay in touch with the "Is my app is a good value for the price? (Y/N, 1 - 5)" answer from your target market.

I agree with all of your pricing comments. I'd only add that your pricing model should change as your grow: low profit margins to start with attract customers, and increasing the profit margin later as your able to lower costs through economies of scale.

We'll see if I can walk that talk.
