It is disturbing and disillusioning, because many of those who opposed Bush were compromising our position in the war on terror in their zeal to embarrass him.
The 600,000 Iraqi documents were analyzed and summarized in the "Iraqi Perspectives Report" in 2007. Bush didn't have that information whe he made those statements.
I hear you! I'm from Portland!
That really sums it up! "They can't prohibit feeding yourself... even in the fifth grade..." Pull a ziplock bag out of your pocket and incur the wrath of the food police. This whole thing gives me the chills.
That's the question, isn't it? Was she a huckster of a true believer? I'm tending to agree with you, especially since you would expect more loyalty from a zealot. Not that she wasn't enamored, but with his politics, not his preeminence. You're right. They deserve each other.
I vividly remember watching a few minutes of The Bachelor a several years ago, just because it is unusual to see something on television that obnoxious and infuriating. Several groveling, weeping women were sitting around a room, waiting to see if they would be "picked" by some exalted creep. It was disgusting. I'm usually pretty self-controlled but I wanted to slap them! I haven't watched it since, but apparently it has just been downhill from there.
I wonder if Dr. Paul agrees with you, that speaking up against the bloody anti-semitism that Israel endures from the stone age police states that surround her, the United Nations, and American academia, constitutes "unbridled homage and tribute." And I wonder if he would repudiate your implication that that "homage and tribute" to Israel caused the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Speaking up for Israel in the face of a systemic campaign of vicious lies isn't "unbridled homage and tribute." It is simple human decency.
Thank God for Wolff and people like her who stand up against the inexorable spread of tyranny, even at great personal risk. It is because of courageous people like her in our own history that we enjoy a free society and can speak out without fear of imprisonment or ruinous fines. The least we can do is honor her sacrifice in defending freedom by making sure that her story is told. Thank you for doing that.
Darn right. If only the left could channel all that fear and hatred away from Palin and toward our true enemies we would be much more secure as a nation.
The Venona Cables were decoded after the fall of the Soviet Union and, surprise!, turned out McCarthy was right after all. Of course nobody knows about them. The leftists in the mainstream media control the flow of information to the masses prefer the McCarthy image of a paranoid character assassin who was seeing imaginary commies behind every tree and rock. The ironice thing is that the mainstream media routinely rallies for actual paranoid witch-hunters who want to dismantle our economy or "we'll all die" -- like Al Gore.
