Yes, I agree with you, only because this assistant's comments fit with other revelations that confirm that Lennon was not a "serious leftist" (as David Swindle wrote in Front Page Magazine), and instead tended to swing pretty easily from one dogma to another. Like you said, knowing that this guy who wrote "Imagine" could have a born-again phase just a few years later affords little surprise that he would swing right in his politics as well. Like you, I wouldn't be betting that it would have stuck though.
Thank you so much Byron, beautifully stated as usual. How paradoxical that the plentiful light in America can actually obscure it.
It is disturbing and disillusioning, because many of those who opposed Bush were compromising our position in the war on terror in their zeal to embarrass him.
The 600,000 Iraqi documents were analyzed and summarized in the "Iraqi Perspectives Report" in 2007. Bush didn't have that information whe he made those statements.
I hear you! I'm from Portland!
That really sums it up! "They can't prohibit feeding yourself... even in the fifth grade..." Pull a ziplock bag out of your pocket and incur the wrath of the food police. This whole thing gives me the chills.
That's the question, isn't it? Was she a huckster of a true believer? I'm tending to agree with you, especially since you would expect more loyalty from a zealot. Not that she wasn't enamored, but with his politics, not his preeminence. You're right. They deserve each other.
Yes, and everyone knows that if you grovel to and appease the bullies they will become apologetic little puppy dogs.. won't they? No continuing the broadcasts would be inconsistent with Obama's past associations, remarks, and behavior. American values are something to apologize for not to broadcast in his view.
Thanks Byron, I am humbled by your kinds words. And, I might add, right back at you!
