The truth is massive reductions in the monetary supply did turn a recession into a depression, The truth is also that massive government spending only compounded the problem by sucking capital out of the system and directing it for political gain. The U.S. paid for that with 10 years of depression. It is also true spending cuts do not stimulate growth, they only will keep the situation from getting worse. Massive reductions in the burdens on business are needed as well as the cuts to stimulate growth. Make it easier for people to do business and you will get more business.
