Two things were helpful to me in seeing the whole picture. I had studied the Bible for a long time, but it was sort of piecemeal. A bite here, a meal there. I was stunned when I began listening to the entire New Testament on CD and DVD. Now you can listen on biblegateway.com and probably other sites, but it has many versions and many languages. On baptism try listening (or reading or both at the same time!) to the Book of Acts. Eye Opening!

The thief on the cross was hanging next to The Word Himself. He spoke and things happened! After He died and the Holy Spirit came to the apostles, they began to preach baptism as were attested to by the thousands and individual accounts in the book of Acts.

There is no record in Scripture that babies were baptized of which I'm aware. People responded to the Gospel that had been told them. Children are pure in the eyes of God evidently.
Matthew 18:2-5
And Jesus calling unto him a little child, set him in the midst of them,
And said: Amen I say to you, unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of heaven.
And he that shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me.

I have been pondering on this for a long time. I hear a wonderful, inspiring sermon, but when they say "Just pray and ask God/Jesus into your heart, and you will be saved". I think, "Where does it say that in the Scriptures"? God can and does do anything He pleases, but it makes me feel uncomfortable to hear that said. Your comment made me think though. We believe and are made alive. If baptism is a burial as the Scriptures picture, wouldn't it be the burying someone alive? Another thing that bothers me is the teaching that Baptism is a "work". Baptism is a submission. You submit to being buried. Does that make sense.

I used to love watching the nature programs and ZaBoomAFoo, etc. with my great grandson. Too bad they have lost their soul. I watch no more.

I knew he was radical before he was elected but I think what has surprised me most is that he wasn't nipped in the bud. It is like when Hitler began his satanic reign. Like watching the hoards listening in rapt attention and hanging on every word until they were hung.

People who torture and kill their own for their "cause" cannot be bought off. They are coming and most are not paying serious attention.

You are not missing anything by not knowing Penn Gillette btw.

I'm not impressed with many movies, but I did love "Toy Story". One of the few I have watched many times and still enjoy it. I am curious about the 3D. Expensive, but sounds like it might be fun. Like others, I try to avoid movies and actors who use their popularity to push pc agendas (like walking a tight rope these days though).
