Dave, it's been a while since we saw you in the Techstars bunker in 2010. Our media platform that was Grogger (and turned into Kapost) has turned into a content marketing platform that is powering many of these large brands. Many brands we talk to haven't yet come to understand the renting vs. owning model. The b2b brands often think of content as just a way to nurture opportunities through their sales funnel. But content, in the model you describe can also fill up the top of the funnel. That's a big change for them and an exciting one (for Kapost and) as a consumer as it's much more authentic.

Great post!

It also doesn't hurt to adjust the photos on your computer so the lighting is optimal.

Just looking at these comments and being a Mac man myself makes you wonder how much longer they'll remain sub 10% market share. I know they don't have an enterprise force like MS but eventually the superior product has to win, right?

I sit right next to these guys and everyday i see them busting their ass to make their shit better and better. There are some really cool things you can do with "the ball" and nobody knows it.

For instance, we were talking about an app where the ball just follows you around all day. It knows the space between you and it and either moves forward (with the appropriate speed) or moves back if you're approaching it. For anyone who loved playing Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega as a kid and loved having "Tails" as a companion. This is a chance to potentially get your own Tails. I love this idea. And, it was an idea not created by Adam and Ian and it goes to show that opening up your idea to others can only make it better.

totally agree. This is a great thing for everyone. Google is pushing Apple and Apple is pushing Google. And in the end, we're all going to get great mobile phones that are just mind-blowing. These are devices that i couldn't even imagine 10 years ago. I couldn't be more excited for our future

yep - that's probably right. As it is now, all the Android apps are inferior to Apple's. Once Android market share grows and can point to some apps that are making money (and have a business) then it's game on.

I've been carrying around both an iPhone and Droid the past few months and see the pros and cons of each:

Droid: Google integration (gmail, calendar, contacts) and Google Voice is great, Verizon is much better
iPhone: iPod integration is huge, apps are way better and typing is much better than Droid

I was hoping that the new iPhone would solve lots of the issues and was planning on upgrading. However, i'm considering going full time to Android.

One other thing that upsets me is this Open vs. Closed debate. There are levels of Openness and Apple HAS allowed developers inside and created a vibrant ecosystem. Just because it isn't Open Source doesn't mean they are the devil. I think it's more of a backlash of people wanting to beat up the market leader. On that point, there's a good post here about the difference between today's Apple and the PC Wars' Apple.
