if that is true than Author did not need to do any research beyond the legal docs, now did he?

Any 3rd party service using the FB api to log you in whether by a direct user interaction or by a previous setting set up by user base don action/event sequence delays the FB deletion.
IE Thus most users deleting FB accounts by FB directions will not have their accounts deleted..
