To me, this story encompasses everything that Small Moments Mondays are all about.

What a beautiful, touching story. Thank you so much for sharing this with me. With us. I have to say that I am inspired to find more small moments in my life and in my children's simply because you remembered this moment in such exquisite detail so many years later. I can only hope my children have memories of me that will stand the test of time like this one did for you.

This made ME tear up. I wish we could slow down the clock just a bit. Mine is almost walking and I can feel her getting all grown up and it breaks my heart. At the same time though, at least we are raising some wonderful girls who will surely become fantastic women.

I can't speak from experience with this kind of loss, but I have been in that place. The place where you have to just continue on when all your body and your mind wants and needs to do is grieve. Where there is a small impressionable person that NEEDS you. The whole you. And you just...continue. Because you must. But it's excruciating. Just like you said.

Mothers are wondrous creatures. You are one of the exceptionally wondrous, I think.

Oh, Nichole. So so sweet.

I was going to do the "one year letter" too, but I had a hard time putting the words down. It's so hard to describe the love we have for them because it is all consuming and inexplicable. You did an incredible job, though. This right here will be something Matthew treasures for the rest of his life.

When I was watching the first one (I swear I didn't see him in the second video) I was thinking to myself "Is this guy doing a Chris Farley impression? Is he SERIOUS?!?!"

The part where you say "You're welcome" is way more appropriate than you know. This whole thing made my day. Especially when I scared my kid nearly out of his PJ pants when I started cackling hysterically at the last one. That's good stuff right there. So...Thank You!!!
