In Ireland national parks are one of the few places you can't camp but of course there are usually adjacent sites. My favourite is wild camping because being an unsociable crank i don't have to deal with other, sometimes noisy, campers and the isolation is glorious, but you do have to get the hang of it. K and i have never quite mastered the "pack light" principle so we've had to suffer from time to time to get where we're going.
