My 2006-era PS3 died the YLOD in August 2009. Luckily I had a 3-year replacement plan with Target, but after having it repaired 3 times (3!!!), they finally got me a new PS3 Slim. Well, it's been about 5 months since I installed the new PS3, and I just tried to download/watch a video tonight. No dice. The broken PS3 is still activated. Of course I got rid of that gigantic paperweight last year, AND I got rid of the original receipt once I bought the new system....so now I can look forward to 2 hours on the phone with Sony. Thanks for posting on this -- DRM is crap and only hurts honest consumers.
