I knew many on the consulting drug, myself included. I plan to pull the plug but for me it has to be a bit slower but I am committing to it. The goal is next year at MicroConf.

I loved this interview Scott. It brings back the magic of the old days when PC's first appeared. I would love to hear others like this from Dan Bricklin, Paul Allen and others of the day. Great stuff.

Thanks.

I think the idea is to spike things without getting all caught up in the ceremonial details. I do this, toss the prototype and move on to build the real app if it sticks.

Not sure there is a downside here.

Jakob, thanks for picking this up. I have to say I would not have known what I had missing if I didn't start out with the iPhone then going to Android. The differences in user experience is like night and day, Apple knows about UX and Google has no clue. Now that I am on the iPhone 4, I appreciate the platform all that much more.

I do the same thing, I probably have a dozen books I am reading right now. Some are technical while others are business related yet a few are neither. I find most authors don't tell a good enough story to keep my attention so I jump around. It helps keep things interesting.

Obie, I think when you are at the top of your game people will always look for opportunities to try to discredit you. You run one of the top Rails agencies on the planet and people get jealous, and look for ways to poke sticks, as they say.

I think this is the case with top athletes, top actors and anyone really successful in their field. When I read your post, your intent seemed clear to me but I also thought to myself that it just might be trouble. It blew up faster than I expected.

Brad, I am very jealous indeed. Of course, if I had that view I would want to be out there scaling those peaks. Enjoy.
