The grocery stores are the things that always got me - especially the produce and dairy sections. The quantity! The selection! I've literally had to walk out of a store and take a few deep breaths before going back in. Having lived in a place where a) there are no grocery stores, and b) produce = small red onions, tomatoes and wizened green bell peppers, the idea that I could buy whatever produce I wanted was just mind boggling. When I moved to London it became a game of "how many ways can I cook spinach?" just because I could! And Nick, I'm with you on the take-away food portions!

Oh my gosh guys, that made me tear up! You are both so, incredibly, super lucky to have each other and the relationship you do. Talk about being able to conquer the world, sheesh.

i had them for no apparent reason about 6 years ago. in my young and impressionable state i had NO idea what they were and was totally freaking out that i had contracted some nasty STD. i was in the middle of backpacking through India, so I had to convince my boyfriend at the time and some Indian man to try to find us a "lady doctor." at 8pm at night. In rural India. let's just say the most mortifying moment of my life even to this day was 2 hours later when the doc asked my boyfriend to hold the flashlight for her...shudder...

oh, and you did know that your comment section was going to turn into everyone's stories, right? good, i thought so :)

What a fantastic letter! I'm not sure I could come up with something so clear headed, but I think it's a great idea to sit down and try. I suppose I'm officially "delurking," found your blog from Sarcastica, and have to say you rock the house! Hope you're enjoying summer :)
