What would you do if they choose to internment (sic) Muslims today?

Exercise my First--and then Second--Amendment rights as necessary.

Roderick T. Long and Charles W. Johnson have argued effectively for why libertarians should embrace traditionally leftist values as a matter of cultural thickness. [...] Libertarians need to take non-government forms of oppression seriously, since it is upon such non-governmental oppression that the state gains its power.

I'm willing to take them seriously, but nearly every 'leftist' I've ever spoken with about such issues has been totally unwilling to even consider options for dealing with it that don't involve governmental intervention.

Political institutions give the military a bully pulpit, but no one is being forced into military service.

This seems like a remarkably tone-deaf statement when there are still living Vietnam vets who were conscripted into service, and when every 18+ year old male is still required to register for the draft.

It was already accepted by the dominate culture that women needed to be treated in such a way and so it manifested itself into law.

"dominant".

Or to put it another way, I'm fairly socially incompetent myself. I know that I'm fairly socially incompetent. So I make a concerted effort to err on the side of caution when it comes to interacting with other people.

"If you don't know what you're doing behind the wheel of the car, perhaps trying to go 200 mph on your first time out isn't the best idea" is not rocket science.

There’s tremendous social pressure to look the other way, to “give him a second chance”.

Oh, I think there's something to this.

A second chance is reasonable.

A two-thousandth chance is not. Nerds are supposed to be smart. That pretty much requires the demonstration of learning behaviour.

I hope his "friend" gets eaten by a pack of rabid ladybugs.

Because it would be really embarrassing, take a really long time, and really hurt.

And then it could go on his tombstone. "I was a jerk who gave away a deployed soldier's dog, and then I was eaten by ladybugs".

Like, what is next on this person's agenda? Knocking over a nun in a wheelchair? Mocking people with Down's Syndrome? Stealing candy from children?

When they finally get run over by karma, it'll actually need to be bus-ma to have adequate amplitude.
