Nothing to it and like much that is written about Mexico and the border, way overblown. Consider the source of this malicious rumor. None of the three have any credibility among true Americans

Might I suggest that once again, you are throwing the misinformation of the immigration debate into the trucking issue where it doesn't belong.

Mexico does nothing of the sort, no more so than the US encourages it's people to do the same. Mexico neither encourages nor discourages movement of it's citizens nor do we, except where Cuba is concerned.

It is disingenuous of you to use this tepid argument in opposition to the US fulfilling a promise it made 15 years ago.

Actually Houstonian, this is one of the problems. People equate illegal immigration, drugs and terrorism to this subject which is a smokescreen.

The Mexican carriers are every bit the professional as American carriers and run with an iron fist. Most of the mainline carriers that would operate in this country require their drivers to have a minimum of 3-5 years experience before even being considered for employment. Compare that to ours which hire people off the street, give them 3 weeks training, and put them behind the wheel.

Consider American drivers are given chance after chance when they have accidents and receive citations for serious violations. Contrasted to the Mexican driver who can lose his license for a period of 10 years to a lifetime for an accident involving fatalities or serious property damage or injury, and this includes prison time as accidents are a criminal matter in Mexico. It gives the Mexican driver serious incentive to do things right and show personal responsibility, something missing in our corp of drivers for the most part.

Take the word "Mexican" out of the debate, and as this author states, you have an industry, trucks and drivers that are equal to, or statistically superior to American trucking companies, their equipment and drivers.

I have followed this debate for 5 years and successfully debunked the claims of the opposition with photos, documents and opinions at http://mexicotrucker.com ,
