I made the switch a few months back -- the longer you wait the harder it is. I love it now though. I am self-hosted though, it makes all the difference. I wouldn't recommend wordpress.com

I used to love love love the Babysitters club. I think it was one summer while my little brothers were in swim lessons, so I was probably around 8 - I devoured as many as I could get from the library and Nancy Drew books while I waited for them to get out of swim lessons. This is a great idea Emily. Some of the best ppl I know from online are indie authors. Everyone needs a break...and I actually feel that self-pubs are getting better, they have freelance editors available to them now and people that will set-up their book in nice formats, etc. An indie author if they have the will can utilize everything a big pub house has. Ooh I’ll start! On my nightstand, Invincible: The Chronicles of Nick (Chronicles of Nick #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon which I’m enjoying but has stalled out and hence, stuck on my nightstand. I also have Desire Untamed (Feral Warriors #1) by Pamela Palmer and This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. The only reason why I just have three is because I recently did some spring cleaning! Forced of course because of a certain 4 year old’s birthday that was this past weekend.
