It's like when you work next to someone and they complain a lot. Some days it's okay, but if you come in every day and they just bitch, and bitch, and bitch, you just don't want to be around them anymore. Yes, I was in that situation once. As a twittering mom I'd rather hear about the great things you did with your kids than what was wrong yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Great post :)

I totally know how you feel. We were on the right path to getting out of our credit card debt, and then a series of events (car issues, daughter starting daycare, the other daughter deciding she wanted to be born early) threw a wrench in our plans. So we're still fine, but hanging onto this debt that I (think) we can get out of soon. But then there's my student loans. Jeez. I agree about the things I won't compromise on...I insist on feeding my girls healthy meals. I can cut back on my own lunches (although I still try and eat healthy). I use coupons on occasion but I'm not good enough about it. The farmer's market helps but I really need to learn how to make stuff out of what's there, rather than going there hoping I'll find X, Y, & Z. Because you know when peaches are in season 10 out of 20 booths are selling peaches. And I don't know what to do with peaches. You get my drift. I also know we could get out of debt if I went back to work full-time but that's also something I'm choosing not to do quite yet. So I know that once I do any money stresses will be, or should be, all but gone. But right now it's really important for me to be with my girls as much as I can, because I'm fortunate that we can make it fine with me working part-time from home. We may not own a house, and it may mean that we'll have to wait a little longer for that house, but it's worth it.

I don't think I gave any tips there...but I think the more you voice it/write about it, the more you'll stick to whatever budget you come up for yourself. Or, that reality show will come along :)

I have heard (although I don't know if it's true) that they may set up a quick-text-donate thing like they did for Haiti. I hope so, because I think that will make it so easy for anyone to help out. I would assume they'll accept any donations, but I know a lot of times they say cash is best so that they don't just end up with all blankets and no food, or vice versa. I know the blood donation is a big thing too. Unfortnately I have very small veins and the one time I tried the blood clotted and they told me not to try again. But I think getting the word out is good.

I hate to think of sitting there with my family and something like this happens. In this area I always think about it, with the earthquakes an all, but this is just tragic.

There is nothing worse than when are babies are sick. I'm so glad she's doing better. And situations like this will always make you hug your little one a little tighter. My youngest spent months in the NICU and I remember the feeling of being comforted that she was where she needed to be, but not comfortable there. Doctors can do amazing things...and nurses are angels. They did their thing and now you three can go back to doing your daily thing at home.

I have a two year old and I've already seen the ways that she can test me. I fear a year from now, ten years from now, maybe even twenty... I tell myself that it's part of the mother-daughter relationship, but it still hurts. I recently overheard a seven year old girl tell her mom that she wished she would go away forever. It was funny to me, but sad at the same time. They never mean it. That needs to be our mantra as mom's of girls. "They don't really mean it." Or, as my husband says, "you have no choice but to love me."

If you ever talk your husband into joining you, PLEASE get that on video! Awesome would not begin to describe it.

I had no idea Gabba was there today. We're going to the Live concert in November which I think will be a huge hit. I've been there though...what seems like a horrible experience is so worth it when their little faces light up.

I love the Oakland Zoo. It's really relaxed, there's a great children's area where you can also put a blanket down and let the kids run around. The only thing is there are hills, so be prepared (particularly if it's a hot day). Plan to bring all your own food because the restaurant there is very so-so and the lines are usually really long. But you never have the parking issues of SF and it's still got some great animals to see.

I agree with Jess, a clean house is overrated. It will only get dirty again. Take care of the things that need food first. The rest will work itself out. Hang in there.

I'm stopping by from the #bhah blog hop but I read this the other day (having submitted my own joy post) and I LOVE this. Can I say that if I don't win, I want you to win? The picture says it all.

I'm told I'm a pretty fun drunk, so I think I'd do okay at one of these shin-digs, but I do worry that everyone I meet would be either a) too socially awkward to think that I'm funny, or b) so stuck in a "I'm more of a blogger than you are" mode that no real connection could be made. Because I really like the people I like, but I don't like all people.
