" I would assume it merely reflects the changing face of Canada, which I am strongly in favour of. We have the benefit of a rich, diverse culture due to decades of immigration. (Centuries, really, as we are all descendants of immigrants, save for First Nations Peoples)

"I think it would be good for Pagans ourselves to come up with reasonable ways of estimating how many of us there are." To what end? I fail to see what good can come of knowing a specific number. This number would only be used against us, as in "See! there's only this many, they're insignificant." Or, to fuel the "world's going to hell in a handbasket" mentality. As for a list of beliefs and practices...

Very good article. You're right, I love Kali, but haven't a clue how to worship such a complex deity. Here in Canada, the most prominent living tradition is that of the First Nations (Aboriginal) People. I have been welcomed in Sweat-Lodges, Sun Dances and many other Aboriginal rituals, and have always found people extremely helpful and forgiving when I asked or screwed up. I've found that if you are sincerely respectful, most people are enthusiastic to share and teach. After all, the purpose of acquiring this knowledge is to share it. Thanks for the links... I'm off to learn!

Dan, years ago I had the pleasure of talking to a very elderly woman who described what she remembered of the "London Blitz." Her parents, and almost everyone else were shocked that this could happen, as all of England believed that Germany was not a formidable force. To her, the sky really was falling...for 57 days straight! I know this example is extreme, but the lessons of history should never be ignored. Never under estimate the power of hate.
