totalBarca : Man of the Match: Real Madrid CF 0-2 FC Barcelona

TWO legendary goals. Messi definitely wins MoM for not only those two sexy and emotional goals, but also because of his help in the buildup of momentum. Xavi is my second choice because he really proved vital to the attack after he moved higher up with Iniesta's absence. Puyi's baaack and whadda performance by our capita! So happy Pep subbed in Ibi as well because he was expanding so much of the passing and assisted Leo's first goal. What a match! I'm so happy we stuck to our philosophy because that is what makes Barca what it truly is!

totalBarca : The Result: FC Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid, a.e.t.

I agreed that the second half was definitely in Barça's control, but that first half was just unfortunate. Madrid did play better during the first half and were able to break down our fluidity and ability to convert passes into goals. I think our first shot (not even on goal) was in the 50th minute of the match. It's very sobering to be in this position but like everyone has said, we cannot win them all. Nonetheless I am so proud of Barça for sticking to their tactics and bringing joy into my life with their beautiful football. Some of Messi's ball-handling in the second half was just gorgeous and awe-inspiring. Villa had an unfortunate game again, both due to his lack of converting chances and how the defenders on RM were handling him. I thought Iniesta had a great second half and hope he will shine in the CL matches.

Does anyone have any idea as to what Pepe was confronting Messi about near the end of the match? You know, where the Madrid fans are seen clearly throwing flags, etc. at Leo? I'm surprised Pepe didn't get a yellow card.

I'm not really worried about the Liga because we managed pretty comfortable defeats for the first half of the season against the teams we have left to face (R. Sociedad, Espanyol, Osasuna, to name a few), so it seems we have it with or without this victory. But what worries me is the Copa and the CL because it is clear that Madrid are dangerous, even when with 10 men on the pitch. I enjoyed the quickened pace of the last 10 minutes, but I felt like although Barça dominated possession, it was in the midfield and Madrid still managed to deter our potential to get forward. Villa, unfortunately, did not have a good game and showed he was constantly uncertain but I'm still optimistic that he will regain form. Adriano gets MoM for me because those two saves were marvelous! However I still thought the team as a whole was looking really well, and Puyol starting was especially sentimental. What a capita we have!

totalBarca : Puyol preparing to come back for the Copa Final?

I agree that Puyi's rehabilitation should not be rushed--our capita should be entirely fit before we rush him back in to assume his very very vital role for the team. I agree that he must be unbelievably frustrated not being able to play because he has always been one of the most passionate and committed players on the team. I just wish the best for him and whether or not he can make it for the Copa, I think we still have a team that continues to play beautiful footbal day and in day out!

totalBarca : The case of Pep Guardiola

While I completely understand Pep's reasoning and logic in leaving Barça, simply as a fan of Pep's tactical magic, I want to be able to see the man manage live. Unfortunately I haven't made my pilgrimage to Camp Nou, but I need to get on that this year, especially to see Pep in action! Since I am still a relatively new culé, I will always remember Pep as the manager who helped bring Barça's beaming brightness into my life. Aw, Pep.

totalBarca : Live: Argentina vs USA

Argentina the first half had me drooling for more and more-swift, creative passes were abundant and the USA team was left scared out of their minds. Even when there were 5, FIVE U.S. players over Messi, he still got through to get a very impressive shot on goal. I didn't get to see a good majority of the second half, so when I came back to see the score was 1-1 I was in utter shock--and I'm from the U.S!

When I heard he was going to sign this morning, I was absolutely ecstatic! I awoke this morning and I always check my totalbarça after I wake up to see if there's any news. This was an especially cheerful morning, though the ugly weather outside was bringing me down. Thanks Dani! I can't wait to see you ASAP when I make my pilgrimage to Camp Nou! :)

totalBarca : Bojan's 100th league game with Barcelona

One of the things I absolutely admire about Barça's management is that they have patience and a such a wholehearted willingness to let players like Bojan thrive and really blossom at Barça. It really coincides with the thoughtful, beautiful, and technical philosophy that I uniquely love about our team. I believe in Bojan's ability, even if some haters out there demand he be loaned out to mature. He has the ability to be another homegrown hero like Xavi, Pep, etc.

totalBarca : The Result: FC Barcelona 2-1 Getafe CF

I agree, haha. I almost didn't want to admit how beautiful it was because it meant they would now go for a second goal more aggressively. The team was lacking cohesion up front in converting chances but I though Alves did a very solid job today. What a goal on his part! MoM for me, but Masch has really proved himself as a starter especially after Arsenal. His performance was great as well.

totalBarca : Session with many absences

While I wish for a speedy recovery for all our players carrying injuries, my wishes are mainly with Abidal. Messi, Pedro, Maxwell, Adriano, and Alves will fortunately bounce back quickly, but let's keep our thoughts with the world's greatest defender: King Abi! We have such a honorable group of guys here at Barça.

totalBarca : [Updated] Eric Abidal to undergo operation on Thursday

I wish King Abi a speedy recovery and he's for sure in my prayers. Indeed, he has had such a fantastic season so far and we culés have been so lucky to always have his consistently outstanding effort. Especially since Puyi's injury, the humble guy's taken on even more responsibility and I just commend him in all he's done for us. Abi I'll pray for you!

totalBarca : Player Reactions: FC Barcelona 3-1 Arsenal FC

Dani's comment about Van Persie made me chuckle. Oh Dani... the best RB in the world indeed. I also really admire Iniesta's attitude after Busi's own goal. I feel like Barça really capitalized on their opportunities even after that huge blow of a goal. Even though we needed 2 more goals to compensate for that own goal and directly win, Arsenal only needed 1 goal to move on after we had scored our two. I saw that hunger throughout, which is why it's splendid to be a culé!

Well-written first review! I felt like you delivered what happened with a few creative twists of your own. I just re-watched the second half and let me just say that this match'll be re-played over and over again in the coming weeks until our next CL fixture. I also can't wait to randomly replay this match in the middle of the summer break and feel those emotions rushing back from that afternoon (here, at least) on March 8 when I missed my last two classes to rush home for Barça.
