MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : Jamie Yager vs. Rich Attonito Fight Video – TUF 11 Finale

Yager needs to just shut his f*ing mouth, get into a top level gym, train his ass off, get his cardio up to speed, and comeback anew. The guy is so athletic, is very marketable and has the size to deal with these new era mw's. My guess is that he'll have one more opportunity to prove himself in the UFC before he gets his walking papers, which might be the best thing for him.

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : Frank Shamrock thinks Jake Shields sucks

And Ramie, I have alot of respect for you and your posts, but surely you jest about me actually writing the editor or wasting my time re-registering to negate some pointless rating system. This is not some school for sports writers whose grades are based on how many positive points we receive for our post. I would've bet the house that you didn't care nor paid any attention to these numbers. I thought the whole point of starting your own site was to get away from the crap that happens here.

The same thing that happened to my DICK, I buried in your moms ass. Who the hell knows and who the hell cares, nobody pays attention to those ratings except the LOSERS who constantly play games with them (and themselves). It's not like this site is well regulated like some of the other top sites, you got too many wannabe MMA boneheads who like to play games instead of intelligently talking about the fighters and the current events that surrounds them. Do you really think those ratings (good or bad) affect anyone or anything, it's just another tool for the children on this site to play with, you know little jenny e, like when you see some shiney object that keeps your attention for hours on end.

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : GARY SHAW: "I THINK THE UFC MADE A HUGE MISTAKE"

Typical egregious comment by the FAT JABBA THE HUT SLUG that tried to infiltrate this great sport. Now he wants to kiss Kimbo's ass so he can bank in on his once again cash cow. Of course Dana knows he could've kept Kimbo and fed him a bunch of tomato cans and made more money off of him, but that's not what they're trying to build. What does that even mean "Once again Dana's ego has gotten in the way"? MMA will (hopefully) never become what boxing has, a diseased laden sport with irreversible corruption and politics that has plagued it for decades. Hopefully we've seen the last of Jabba in MMA, good riddance dick smoker.

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : QUINTON "RAMPAGE" JACKSON: "EVERYBODY LIGHTEN THE F#@K UP!&am

Just when it looks like Rampage is on the right track to redeeming his faux pas, he continues to talk and absolutely derails himself. Some of these big name stars don't realize they're missing out on monies from other endorsements outside of the fight game and probably could use some life coaches to capitalize on other opportunities.

This would be interesting, I don't see him getting past a bunch of the top guys, but if he gets a few of them to the ground, you never know. I think this is his only viable option at this point while he's still in the UFC.

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : JAKE SHIELDS FREE TO START NEGOTIATIONS ON FRIDAY

It's obvious he's going to the UFC, not only for the competition, but at 31 years old, this is his last chance to bring in big retirement dollars. I'm still shocked over the Henderson fight and how easily he controlled Dan from the 2nd round on, so it'll definitely be interesting to see how he follows up that performance. I've never been too terribly interested in his fights, but since his last victory, he's got my attention, we'll see.

Hats off and a standing "O" for Brilz, not only did he take this fight on extremely short notice, but he almost submitted Lil Nog several times. Very, very close fight, I'd have to see it again to see if Nog deserved the decision, but this just shakes things up once again. Lil Nog seemed to be on his way to 2nd go 'round with Shogun (next year), but Brilz either got lucky or just plain exposed Nog as someone who no longer has what it takes to be one of the very best. Great, Great fight!!!!!!

I can't wait until Bisping once again faces the top of the division for a good ole fashion beat down, while he did look good in this fight, it was only Dan Miller, but Bisping would have you believe it was a Marquardt or a Maia and will probably demand a title shot.

Damn, I'm a fan of Diego but I just don't know where he goes from here, it seems his dominant ways are a thing of the past. I definitely like him at ww, but things are not looking good for the "Nightmare". As Ramie said, he still needs to work on his boxing which has always plagued him and it hasn't improved very much since he's taken issue with it 3 years ago. I also think a whole lot of power training will do him some good as well. I guess he'll get relegated to UFN and work his way back up.

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : Quinton Rampage Jackson vs Rashad Evans UFC 114

While momma's boy Rashad won the fight, Rampage won the war. Rashad didn't do anything other than the punch he caught Rampage with in the 1st round and the very quick 1st take down. After that, Rampage quickly gauged his speed and gameplan, not really suffering any problems until the takedown in the 3rd where Evans was getting some good ground and pound in. Rampage was stuffing and countering all of Evans takedowns most of the fight, or better yet "wrestling match" but Rashad got enough of them in to take the decision. I still think Rampage can hold his head up high after this match, he only lost because he was held most of the fight and he hurt Rashad and almost had him on the other end of a tko. Ramie I disagree with you about Rampage being OUTCLASSED, there was nothing superior about that performance, when you talk about outclassing an opponent, then you talk about GSP/Hardy, Penn/Sanchez, Lesnar/Herring, it just wasn't that dominant of a performance, if anything, it was just good enough to get the win. I'm sure we'll see them in the cage again in the very near future.

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : ALAN BELCHER: "I DON'T KNOW WHAT JOE SILVA'S DEAL IS...I THINK HE'S NOT AN A

Belcher has the skills to compete with the upper tier fighters, but as with just about everyone has said on this thread, he needs to be more consistent and his turn will come. He absolutely beat Akiyama and was robbed of that win. The Cote fight was a good name to start with and he can build on that, he's definitely a tough guy and I put him in the mix with the other potential title challengers, if Anderson does indeed relinquish his title for lack of competition, then the mw belt could change hands several times which would make the division much more exciting. He's remindful of Sonnen where he thinks he's much better than he is, but I agree with him that he should get a bigger name next time around. I don't agree with the UFC changing to some sort of useless ranking system, then we would be headed for the same red tape political crap that plagues boxing where the same people stick around the top and getting multiple title shots, instead the UFC puts on fights that the fans want to see and ones that make the most sense (usually).

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : DANA WHITE: "I THINK JAMES TONEY IS GOING TO LOSE TOO"

This is such an easy fight to call, it all depends on how arrogant and over confident Couture will be in trying to prove something on his feet because he knows he has his wrestling to fall back on. Randy has gotten kinda punch drunk over the years and while Toney has never been a 1 punch ko fighter, with the much smaller MMA gloves, it'll add a little extra fire power to what he does have. I was giving Toney a better chance than normal when the fight was made, but seeing as the fight will be made at hw, just tells me Toney is still not dedicated to being the best he can be, AS USUAL.

How convenient that he wanted to come in at over 300 lbs, I guess he wanted to come into the Ray Mercer fight over 300lbs to because Mercer is so huge and muscle bound too, YEAH RIGHT TIM!!!!! Atleast he could've said that he wanted to be at 300 all along and not throw in the "I was 285 at the peak of my training" crap, hahahahaha. Strikefarce might have to desperately give him a shot, but their is no way in hell he'll ever get back into the UFC . . . . . GUARANTEED!!!!!

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : Mariusz Pudzianowski vs Tim Sylvia – Moosin

You're right about Pudz learning not to bite off more than he can chew, but whose fault is that, Pudz or his handlers. Was it his handlers arrogance to think this guy could fight TWICE in a 2 week period, or was it Pudz thinking he would automatically become a Brock like figure in the sport because of his brute strength?! On the other hand, I don't see anything promising about a future for this guy (other than a circus sideshow). The reason why he got such an experienced fighter in Sylvia, was because Tim is essentially done in this sport but his "former UFC champion" label still holds water and can gain some recognition for a late blooming newcome. Their was absolutely nothing Tim did in this match to cause any decent fighter to tap out, Sylvia was just as tired and didn't land anything worthy with the exception of a few knees, but definitely no heavy punches were landed. At thirty something, they probably imagined either a Lesnar type of "quick success" or a Kimbo like "stardom".

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : STRIKEFORCE PASSES ON KARO PARISYAN (UPDATED)

Yeah, I'm sure part of it was money, that's usually the hold up on anybodies contract. I would think that Karo should be happy to take anything decent right now, but like so many other UFC alums, he'll make money elsewhere because of what he's done in the past. Of course I have no idea what they were offering, it could've been something overtly ridiculous that even Wes Sims would've declined, but I would guess besides the money factor, regular testing as well as possible huge fines should he back out of a fight without a very legit reason. While Karo didn't discuss what caused the deal to fall through, he did tell MMA Junkie that the contract was for a 6 fight deal.

MMA Hits - Mixed Martial Arts Blog : UFC TO COUNTER PROGRAM STRIKEFORCE WITH "ULTIMATE FIGHTS" ON MAY 15

Oh c'mon Russ, did you have to describe the fight between Garcia/Jung as technically sloppy, it was just a good old fashion brawl, you know, old school style, LOL (I hear you though). This is a great lineup of (recent) fights, it'll definitely be effective counter programming seeing as the Overeem/Rogers fight is on Showtime, not too mention their wasn't a huge interest in this fight to begin with, especially since Brett is coming off a ko loss. I was at a sports bar during Strikefarce Nashville and they were not even showing it. On the screens throughout the bar was baseball, ESPN, and the counter programming by the UFC, I couldn't believe it. As we all know, Strikefarce was being broadcast on network tv that night.
