Two Makes Four : Welcome to the Hurl Hut

That reminds me of when the Monkey was 2 and got the rotovirus. I was casually lugging a puking toddler around the house, catching vomit in a plastic bowl every so often. The Pumpkin wouldn't stay in the same room with us, she was so horrified by the idea of vomit. Of course, the Monkey couldn't keep anything down and we ended up in the hospital. Fun times in the ER! Fun times on the pediatric floor! Fun times watching my stubborn child refuse to drink anything because she was afraid of vomiting!

Two Makes Four : Phew...

Excellent - so happy to hear that her head is normal. After reading about the metopic craniothing it looked like Amaia was actually a bit old for this to be something new, since all of the diagnoses seem to be pretty early. Not that I was going to say anything until you knew, since it sucks to start convincing yourself that nothing needs to be fixed if in fact it DOES need to be fixed. Anyway, yay!

Oh hell. I'm so sorry. I hope everything goes all right at the appointment, and that you have the best possible scenario.

Two Makes Four : Because Once Simply Wasn't Enough

I am in NO danger of clicking the links, because I am the sort of person who cannot have a filling replaced without 2 Valium. Smells, sounds, I need sedation. I have to get a crown some time in the next year....more Valium. Lots more.

Two Makes Four : The Potty Train Has Been Derailed

That's awful. And with my eldest (who is 16 and has not wet her pants in 13 years, you may be happy to hear) I just backed the hell off. At the age of 2 she was totally interested in bathroom activities and cool underpants until I explained what the whole procedure entailed. Then it was OH HELLS NO. Tantrums, kickings of the potty seat, hiding the potty in the closet, putting it in the garage...I figured nothing was worth this. It wasn't until she was 3 and we were registering her for pre-K (for the next year) that we pointed out that she couldn't go to school unless she was potty trained. She decided to be trained in 2 days, and she never looked back. My second trained herself at 2 1/2, but that's because she had her sister as a role model. Potty-training at 2? Twins? You shouldn't feel like you've failed. I applaud you for trying in the first place.

Two Makes Four : We are Definitely Family

This looks like a case of belated triplets. One just showed up a couple of years behind the other two. By the way, my university's server blocks your site with the porn filter. Apparently you used the word 'sex.' And to add to the weirdness, I have no problem with any of the other blogs I read, many of which use vulgar words including the word 'porn.'

Two Makes Four : 39 Weeks

Mine crept out - the first came out after 24 hours of labor, the second took 25. You know, 2.5 years apart - I made them sound like twins. Pretty much representative of their sleeping habits on the outside, though. Both are impossible to wake up.

Toy With Me : Cancer Is Fucking Bullshit

Yes, cancer is bullshit. My dad died of Stage 4 colon cancer 8 years ago this month, and my mom died of Stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer (which is a real bastard - by the time it's diagnosed it's usually colonized the lymph nodes. My mother's was a true traveler, running straight to the bone and to the brain) in 2008. I think mr webbis has assumed that I am going to die of cancer someday (don't have it, by the way!), so that's pretty awesome. I am a big supporter of giving money and time to cancer research, but the straw that broke the back of my tolerance was the pink cancer chip bags we saw in Kroger this weekend. Breast Cancer SunChips! Really? I will buy your t-shirt. I will buy them for my daughters. And then they will be sent home from school....

Two Makes Four : Moving Daze

Not pregnant, but I know what you mean. We just (3 months ago) moved out of the place I moved into with the girls after I got divorced. It was a rental, kind of crappy, but it held all of my Independence Memories and the memories of the early days of the relationship with mr webbis...so even though the new place is far better than the old by about 200%, I still miss the old place.

Two Makes Four : ControverSunday (Tuesday): Licensed Merchandise

Yo Gabba Gabba was also referenced in the Literal Video for the Killers' 'Read My Mind' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIK_Xw-lVsI but apparently the Killers objecteed to it, or something, so now this one has a cat and is slightly off-sync...) so now my teenaged daughter, who loved the literal video, owns the Yo Gabba Gabba squid guy. But back to your actual point, even though I Am Late: I tried to avoid making my children look like shills for any particular company, but they LOVED the Sesame Street peeps, and what kind of mother can deny her Ernie-lover a t-shirt with his smiling face? I did try to avoid all of the other products with Things on them - I got blank sippy cups, bottles, diapers, shoes, furniture, bumper pads, blah blah blah. Part of that is because I am a). cheap, andb). constitutionally incapable of adhering to A Theme. And I have used up all of my allotted random caps for the day, so I have to go now.

Two Makes Four : Wean Me, Seymour

Yes indeed, this sucks for you. It's like you are being asked to choose one path or the other on the route to Good Motherhood, but one of them feels more selfish than the other. I have to say I agree with Megan, since your daughters will be fine once weaned, and your mental state is really important to your daughters' mental and emotional health and to the health of your marriage. Please don't feel guilty for making such a decision. The longest that mine nursed was 13 months (first child) and 9 months (second). You've done a great job. Seriously.
