Christian Web Trends Blog by OurChurch.Com : Discuss and Win @LenSweet's New Book, Viral

I agree that we are poised on the verge of revival. The moral failures of the Gutenbergers have had a negative impact on the Googlers. We have left them a legacy of broken families and moral chaos. Governmental attempts at solving these problems have not produced the desired results. I see the potential for a new movement of God to bring the disenchanted to Christ. New communication tools will play a major role in this revival. My Twitter handle is @mhmcintyre

I'm using IntenseDebate and don't seem to have the page load issues I had before. It seems to be working well.

Attempts at Honesty : Why I switched from Bufferapp to Timely for Tweet buffering

Update: I have installed the Bufferapp button to allow readers to Buffer a tweet of the post. Timely does not offer a button at this time. If Buffer would allow more Tweets in the the queue, I think I'd switch back.

Attempts at Honesty : 4 Reasons Why I Dropped Disqus Comment System From My Blog

Update: I found some folks in the blogosphere who had praise for IntenseDebate (ID) as a comment system so I gave it a try and am currently using ID. ID doesn\\\'t seem to negatively affect page load speed, but I don\\\'t like that it doesn\\\'t play nice with WPTouch. But currently I think the advantages outweight this downside, so I will keep it active.

I also found a plugin called Spam Free Wordpress which requires a code be copied and pasted (or retyped) into a box to validate that a real person is writing the comment. If I decide to nix ID, I will activate this pluging to prevent spam.

Ron Edmondson : 10 Secrets of Many Senior Pastors

I grew up as pastor's kid and am now an elder in a church. While in some cases this may be true, I would also argue that sometimes the expectations of the congregation put the pastor in a very awkward position. If the church members expect the pastoral staff to do all the ministry, then burnout will eventually happen or the church will stagnate. The church members must be educated as to the role of the pastor in equipping the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11). Then the pastor will be with the members shoulder to shoulder and won't have to constantly be looking back to see who is following.

Christian Web Trends Blog by OurChurch.Com : > @StickyJesus 1) you: born for such a time as this

Thanks for the post, it is encouraging. I've been thinking about how this mission can be subverted by distraction with the numbers. It is easy for me to loose sight of the fact that we are called to be witnesses, not attract large followings. I think that if we are shining with God's light, many will be drawn to it, but it is too easy to be focused on results and not focused on God.

Christian Web Trends Blog by OurChurch.Com : Win a Free iPod Touch from Shelby Systems!

My Twitter account is @mhcintyre and I clicked the like button for Facebook The Temptations were my favorite singing group as a child. My parents listened to old time southern gospel music, but I was captivated by the Motown sound the first time I heard it. Today I gravitate more toward artists like Bruce Cockburn and Mark Knopfler

Erictric : Consumer Reports Ranks AT&T as Worst Carrier in The United States

I can't wait until my contract with AT&T is up for my work phone. When it is, goodbye AT&T. I drop so many calls and find so many dead zones for both data AND voice that I never had with Verizon. Perhaps AT&T should invest their marketing $$ into fixing their systems.

Erictric : Verizon Wireless Might Pay Apple to Keep iPhone Exclusivity Between Itself and AT&T

Agreed that Blackberry will continue to loose market share. OS 6 is an improvement but from what I've seen can't compete with Android or iOS. As soon as my contract expires next year, I'm hoping to dump both Blackberry and AT&T. Now if only they release the Verizon iPhone by March . . . but those Android phones are pretty sweet.

Erictric : Verizon Wireless Retail Stores Preparing For January Launch of CDMA iPhone?

My question is if the iPhone will be able to take advantage of Verizon's announced 4G capabilities? It seems as though it would be a waste to try to introduce a 3G phone for a 4G system.

Erictric : AT&T Showing Symptoms of "We Don't Need Apple Anymore" Disorder

From what I can see, the iPhone is the only thing that AT&T has going for it. I'm locked in to a contract with AT&T and will be in a Verizon store within minutes of contract expiration. AT&T's coverage (phone and 3G) in the Northeast where I live and work is awful. I drop more calls in a day than I did in a month when I was with Verizon. It is a shame to watch a company spiral into decline the way AT&T has.
