Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Singing friends are friends forever at camp.

I know a couple who danced to this at their wedding. I don't know if they met at camp. Also, our big regional back-to-school dance every year would typically end with Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me," but the year I went to my last one, it ended with "Friends." I was so thrown off I forgot to cry.

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : #543. Throwing out disclaimers before you recommend something secular.

At my old job at a parachurch publishing house, I sat cattycorner from a lady who had a hugely popular Tejano pop song as her phone's ringtone. When I complimented her ringtone, she chirped, "Thanks! It's one of my favorite secular songs!" I just found her defense of such a wholesome song kind of funny, considering that nobody else in the office had any compunctions about listening to secular music (the lady who sat next to me had the intro from AC/DC's "Back in Black" as her ringtone, and there was a gal in my department who LOVED the Beastie Boys). But this was also someone who wrote a lengthy blog post defending her decision not to give her kid an explicitly biblical name.
