that book, the evil book, is a complex installation in our culture; it speaks to the realities of human history, the motivations of so many historical figures. but, you are right... there's something twisted about the whole thing. fortunately, life has given me the choice to be a good man... and with few exceptions, i've opted for the kindness and compassion of humanity.
but, we are confronted with a choice in every human interaction. and, when that one person comes along, the one that is trying to play games with my life, to take power over me, to threaten a way of being happy and present, i will not loose.
the one advantage that i have over this book though, is that Buddhist readings have cushioned this text with a layer of compassion... and that i understand detachment.

Glad I didn't let the 'cop' get me then. And, how dare he try to pick on me if that was the case. That's rude and disrespectful to target.... if that were the case.
