You say Mary was a "homemaker". My guess is that she was a water-fetcher, gardener, spinner, weaver, seamstress, and maybe even carpenter.

I think reviews that say "I didn't like it and here is why" are valuable and I don't see any reason to spend time reading a book you hate. You had a reason for reading this one; a reason shared by many, and like many, from what I've seen, you were disappointed.
