The Indian High-Commissioner is being biased to people of Indian descent in this country by trying to impose Hindi hegemony on them. The ancestors of the Indian diaspora from the sub-continent spoke diverse languages that were not even mutually intelligible to Hindi. As a matter of fact, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar's ancestral villagers native language is Bihari, which is not mutually intelligible with Hindi. The reason that English is one of the official languages of India, is because of the diversity of languages spoken on the sub-continent.
