Ya, missed you Rand (although enjoyed you on fb! Just blog your fb updates. Come back and join us again...I heard someone may even resurrect JordanPlanet, which was WAY fun!) Please don't feel pressured to produce consistently good content ...you could do it in your sleep. (I guess I am glad I skipped twitter) My recent post In the NY Orthodox Jewish Community, 117 Kids Molested

Gosh, NaserK, I really don't know how to read my twitter account, I only check it once a week, and don't recall a facebook question? Yes, I was there, I even walked the the crowd in the front a couple times during the prize give-away to see who I had missed...but since I haven't met you, I obviously missed you!

Yi!! Naser K, you were there? And you didn't even come over to my table and say hi? I had a totally different impression and LOVED it! I've never been to a tweetup, have no illusions about being cool, and really loved seeing what people have done in one big format.

KABOBfest : Reducing Chances of Being Sexually Harassed in an Arab country

Rana, thank you. Golden Rule alternative: treat every woman as you would want your mother or sister or sister to be treated, as Emi mentioned. Yassar, I'm a blond, 51 year old US citizen living long-term in Jordan. Harassment is a part of life for me. It is more than catcalls, it is a visual conquest, a desire to consume and own what is seen - and it is all her fault for being in a place of being seen, no concept of his personally responsibility. You can be in a tank top or a niqab, blond or black, harassment is an equal opportunity experience. Most guys are not like this, but probably 10% make harassment an art form. I wish the 90% would call them on it. This is sad, as it essentially says, 'subliminate and reduce every aspect of your humanity while in public'. Just keep any chance for male stimulation behind the doors of home, and everyone is happy.

Andrew, sorry to be provocative. Many of my Muslim American ladyfriends (converts) are concerned about the threat of some strands of Islam (not "Islamic Threat") that are taking hold in their communities. They are the ones who tell me about the level of denial, the need to 'protect' the ummah, how they are told to be quiet and not rock the boat. The folks they are afraid of are the ones I am afraid of. The same ones who are doing a fine job villifying Muslims without a bit of Rep King's help. Pretending that this element is not an issue, and should not be put on the table, does not engender trust nor respect. (did that help?)

The ABC series-to-be is entitled "Good Christian B*tches". A divorcee moves to Texas and discovers how wicked Christian women are. (full disclosure, I am all for the King proceedings. Somewhere between the crazy witch-hunt and the level of denial within the US ummah, there are some truths that need to be revealed.)

Andrew, woohoo, harsh! You pegged the worst of Eve in all us ladies, though, just the Arab region detail highlighted. Owning it, warned by it. Good response to Rep King., especially in light of that new TV show threatening to come out.

KABOBfest : Allen West's Butt

Yea, whoa, Sarakenos, you are my favorite KabobFester, but gotta say, like him or not, angry or not.... If I heard an American use similar words about you, I would get in his face. I think a black Muslim brother would too. I am in conflict over saying this, as you are one of the few who exposes and calls Muslim error what it is, instead of just attacking the messenger, you are not one who blows sunshine. I appreciate that. (The battle for respect for Islam is lost with reps like this. The victim card doesn't play, nor does such a lame argument when news from the region validates West's words daily)
