I'm not reading along with you - sorry. I didn't hear about this until you had already commenced and I'm not sure a huge readathon would be the best for me right now - I'm quickly approaching finals. Anyway, i just wanted to comment on your thoughts about the book. You mentioned that the movie is impacting your reading. And I just want to say, I totally agree with that. Sometimes, when I see the movie first or just know the story in general before the book, it kind of ruins it for me a little. I'm currently reading Dracula and knowing so much about the story has really tainted how I am reading it.

Awww. These just sound like the cutest books. I remember struggling to write poetry for classes when I was that age. And even now, I'm a poetry lover. I don't write as much as I used to when I was a rebelliously troubled teenager. But the more I read it in my class, the more I want to force myself to start writing again.

Sounds like a fun read. I too enjoy stories within stories especially when they're tied to fairytales or myths of some sort. I also really am into feminist lit or lit that deals with women's issues and this definitely sounds like it does just that. Great review - Im definitely going to try and read this one in the near future.

Well this definitely sounds like an interesting read. I really like books that go outside of linear narration and kinf of mix up story lines but eventually you figure it all out. I find Louise Erdrich's writing to be like that a lot of the time. At first, I have all the characters mixed up and I don't really know what to think. But at the end, I know that one thing is for certain: the story has moved me. I think I would really enjoy this book and I'm definitely going to add it to my TBR list.
