Putting the whining of the pinched-faced morality queens aside, John Friend gets props from me for spreading the Mendo love around.

Personally, I find little use in exploring or otherwise noting "far out" experiences, either one's own or another's. Consciousness is nondual regardless of content, and while certain experiences may seem significant and numinous, to privilege those as somehow closer to what is nondual over our immediate, perhaps less romantic present, does little more than create psychological distance, which in terms of our embodied minds, is every bit as effective as the real thing.
To whit: neti, neti.

Intention produces the Atman? This is as ridiculous as your folk theories about the "Sat Guru."
Remember people: everyone poops. Anyone claiming to be a guru is just as human as any of the rest of us. Nondual realization does not render one above another, it shows the plain truth that we have all always been the Atman at all times, whether we come to see it directly or not.
The only thing that makes a guru special is the *belief* carried by his/her devotees that s/he is special. That, and the efforts of the marketing/PR departments of any of the big-time commercial gurus to make them *seem* special as a way to get you to join their cults.

Folks should understand that we all have our own lanes to the Self. Each of us. In that way, it kinda IS anything goes.

But it will always be something outside the realm of the expected.
One thing that often seems missed by many tantric teachers out there is the basic notion of transgression as neurological forge.

Yes, through the muck. There's no going around it, as Sri Sri would like you to believe. His is a simpleton's path that only leads to his own glory, and a little temporary peace of mind for as much of your money as he can get.
Caveat emptor.
