And weeks and weeks later, I'm happy to report I've been doing Strategic Success Mentoring sessions with Stacy Ennis. She pointed out how around 95% of small business don't aim for strategic growth. I'm learning a lot about how to start on top of goals and implement mileposts for achievement.
Now that Trump is the president of the United States, I can't help but think how he goes nothing to instill an honest and caring impression, and he doesn't make any bones about not doing so. Right now, there is so much going on that he could tend to, but no. He'd rather call out some NFL players who are peacefully protesting.
During my illness, I've been lucky enough to be invited to a mentoring program by a highly-successful ghostwriter and creative consultant. She's really big on thinking less and acting more. I'm taking that to heart as I get ready to take on higher-caliber clients.
Music is life and can touch the soul in so many ways. I find acoustic Spanish guitar the most soothing. One example of how tone can impact music is Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now." To hear her sing it as an adult versus when she was young is so eye-opening.
America's image is going steadily downhill with Trump as president. His election points to so much that is wrong with my country's brand. One good thing about the health care bill the Republicans are trying to pass is more of the public in the US is waking up to how it benefits the 400 richest people in the land. For shame.
I'm going through this with my therapist in a way. She ways my mind always leaps so far ahead that I often want to skip the diagnostic phase. That's why she's there though, to help slow me down and give me perspective.
So many factors feed into rising inequality that it's hard to pinpoint what to do to make the necessary headway. Considering Trump is now the leader of the free world, I have less hope than ever.
All work requires creativity and vision. A person won't get far without it. Well unless they are Donald Trump ;)
Looking back now, I am thinking about the college comp classes I taught. Throughout the semester, no grades were given, but plenty of feedback ensued and the final grade took into account if drafts were turned in or not, but most of the grade came from the final writing portfolio. I also used to sit by my art teacher friend at parent teacher conferences and she would always have to have an argument with parents who demanded to know why their child didn't get an A in art...
Programs are needed to continually address the disparities between gender equality. As the video shows, research shows the direction that needs to be taken to bridge the gap, but then I think of the election about to take place in the states, and it just may very turn out that the leader of the free world might be a huge chauvinist. Ugh.
