Hey Brad, I use the Incredible but I wouldn't recommend it because the HTC Sense skin adds an unnecessary layer to the Google integration. It takes an extra step to add contacts to Gmail from your phone and the Picasa integration isn't as great as Droid 1 and Nexus One. Droid X is slightly too large for me. Web browsing is great, but I'd prefer the sleek look and feel of something the size of the Incredible.

This is where the Samsung Galaxy S comes in: http://samsungmobileusa.com/GalaxyS/#/home

I've only seen the Captivate in person and let me tell you, it's awesome. The screen is larger than the Incredible, yet the size of the phone is about the same, so you get the best of both worlds. The Fascinate is Verizon's version and I would suggest looking at that.

That's exactly the type of stuff I was hoping this App Inventor would have. It would be amazing if they tie in a library of well-known APIs, with the ability for users to add/contribute others. This is going to be one hell of a tool.

Although it will certainly increase the number of low quality apps in the Market, I think it's a brilliant idea. I hope they tie in some awesome functionality for pulling in Google data. I'm hoping for something like a Squarespace + Yahoo Pipes thing. That would be great for mocking up apps...

Apple, blurred background, slow panning, no background music, perfect rectangular screen to overwrite. If there were any commercials in the world worth doing a parody on, it would be these.

I'm curious too. On my HTC Incredible, when clicking a video in the mobile Youtube site, it's launching "HTC Flash Lite" that's built-in to the phone.

You're probably right, but a lot of people will join and the UI will make or break it. Google has millions of users already and it will be simplistic for those users to create an account on "Me". Not only will they have the benefit of that, the Diaspora project already proved that there's many people who want an alternative to Facebook, and they're PAYING money to get it. One thing's for sure, they're going to have one hell of a crowd of early adopters.

Yup, I don't get why so many people slam Android because there's a couple different versions out in the wild. I think Android is doing great considering it's being used on a plethora of different carriers and devices.

On the latest "Random Show" with Kevin Rose & Tim Ferriss, Kevin mentions that they're already looking for another CEO and he doesn't plan to stay CEO for long. It's around the 10 minute mark on this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFV3YleXMp4

You're right. Apple's marketing is brilliant. Compare something like the iPhone's commercials to Verizon's Android commercials and the difference is staggering. I don't understand it either because Android has so many great features and can do almost everything the iPhone does. They are making the Droids look very techy throwing out megapixel numbers and processor speeds, while Apple is demonstrating a real-world scenario on a great looking device. Android carriers need to step the marketing game up and show more people using the Android experience, instead of showing a robot checking his notification bar. Also V, was that a Google Sky Map commercial? Really?

As an FYI, I believe they're referring to the core OS updates. As far as I know they have plans to detach some of the core applications from Android's core updates so they can be delivered through the Market. It won't be as disappointing as some of you may think because we'll likely still receive regular updates to many of the applications that make up Android.
