I was speaking directly to player safety and the lack of it from the referees. Quizz' hat came off because UCLA's #8 used the crown of his helmet to hit Quizz under the chin while Quizz was vulnerable. This was a clear call to be made according to the rules for safety in our league. And if the refs are not going to call it, then the league should just announce that they don't really care.
As I said, there was an instance which wasn't as clear late in the game where one of our linemen hit Brehaut helmet to helmet after he threw the ball. I think this one should have been called as well.
Safety is the topic of my questions. Late chips can be included. Many times UCLA linemen were hitting our defenders well after the whistle and they were not called. If they weren't called for those hits but our guys were just because UCLA's guys 'wanted it more', then the refs can just tell us that's why they called the game that way. I don't think this was the case.

I would like some clarification on the helmet to helmet hit on Quizz. One of the announcers tried to explain it away because he went up in the air and, "... you don't know where he's going to come down."
?
That goes against common sense. You know precisely where he's going to come down since he's given up the ability to change direction. Using that logic, the NFL should have done nothing when Todd Heap was popped under the chin earlier this year by Merriwether.
I think Frahm (?) should have been called on one later in the game as well, so it's not as iff I think we're angels who are being picked on. i just think the league officials are saying they take safety seriously and act in an opposite manner. The plays that were called on this rule almost seemed they would not have been called if the first was not embarrassingly missed. I'm sure the refs caught an earful after Quizz' hit.

If you're down on him, then you're standing in a long line which includes teammates, coaches and mostly himself. His reality is more harsh than a comment on a blog.
If you think your self-righteous diatribes ward off some evil joo-joos or give other whackos a sense of warm fuzziness, then so be it. But most of us live in a world where not everyone gets a trophy for showing up for some game where they don't keep score because *sniff* it hurts to lose.
In the end we're still just talking about a kicker with the yips.

If you give up that much yardage, you are giving up a minimum of 21 points. And that's with take-aways. Since that is obvious to any reasonable football fan, why would not alowing a team to score logically follow giving up that kind of yardage?
I think he meant that we can hold the opposition to under 30, and we have a good to great chance to win due to our offense... sort of like UO giving up gobs of yards and points but still winning.
