I am amazed that anyone could stomach that little girl act longer than a few minutes. I had to check out about halfway through.

"Oh my, Mr Mansbridge! I don't even know what a politics is! They're all so mean! I'm only twelve, you know... Golly gee..."

I have to say, I think one of the best things to come from all of this is a fresh look at what a parliament is - i.e., not a government, and not just a bunch of guys yelling at government, but a unique body with its own powers and privileges which it exercises through democratic debate.

And it's -that-, rather than government itself, which is the instrument through which laws are made, and we should note that well -- and ensure that parliament uses its powers and encourage it to take on a life and significance outside "that place where the governing party tells everyone what to do."

It almost makes me think that our system isn't broken at all!

In a good mood -- and so am I! I really am glad this continues to progress regardless of the day-to-day Hill drama, and hope it will despite any potential elections, too.

This would be excellent for Canada.
