You have to go to your square-enix account management system and enter the beta key code there to activate the beta account.
WTF You talking about? This is game was made in Japan, not China.
I tried for SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS to get the dang beta key - now that I have it I'm not sure I want it. I'm extremely disappointed in the INSANE lag. It makes battle and even just talking to NPCs crazy difficult. I've been looking forward to this game for over 2 years but, seriously, if they don't fix this crap soon I'm going to have to ditch my plans to buy the game. Which will make me sadder than I care to say, I played FFXI for three years and have been so looking forward to FFXIV for years! But, this whole thing is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. >.<
Believe me, you're not missing much, hun. The lag is so bad it's making doing anything really difficult. It's insanely frustrating and is taking the fun out of the game.
I had this issue but had to let it sit for an hour and a half or so. It FINALLY updated and launched the player.
I got a key but every time I try and play the lag is so bad that it makes combat and even talking to NPCs very difficult. I doubt this is a problem with my computer as it's only a year old and is a gaming computer. If there isn't a fix to this then I will have no choice but to scrap my plans to buy the game. Which makes me very sad as I've been looking forward to it for over two years now.
I gave this a try and, though the game is very fun to play and the characters are cool, the load times for the zones and for the game itself are just insane. And I don't mean that in a good way. I changed zones and it was taking so long I went to take a quick shower. I came back and it was STILL loading! Bottom line is, I don't care how fun a game is, if I play for 2 hours and nearly half of that time is just the game doing its loading stuff, I'm not going to play.
I just signed up for this game and I hope I get chosen for CBT! :D I love beta testing!
Sounds a tad like Aika. But hopefully cooler. I found the Aika's gender/class locks quite annoying and very off-putting.
