Several months ago, the same sort of rabble-rousing MOB crashed in on UNITED HEALTH CARE offices, chanting "EVERYBODY IN! NOBODY OUT!"--demanding government-mandated health care. Seems like their THUG tactics ARE accomplishing something, at least in their twisted minds... and in the twisted minds in government that think the way to "progress" is via THUG tactics like this.

THAT is exactly how this housing-market bust started a few decades ago: THUG pressure. It worked then, wonder if it'll work again?

Quote:
"The CRA [Community Reinvestment Act] was Carter’s answer to a grassroots activist movement started in Chicago, and forced banks to make loans to low income, high risk customers. PhD economist and former Texas Senator Phil Gramm has called it: “a vast extortion scheme against the nation’s banks.”

To Not-so-nice_Taco:
You are very rude. The post said: "...it was TACTICS LIKE THIS that "succeeded" (in the short run) in creating the SUBPRIME LOAN phenomenon that helped CREATE THE DISASTER in the housing market in the first place. Thanks a lot, Alinsky and the idiots who pressured banks to make loans to irresponsible people! And thanks a lot, Banksters & Wall Street who figured out a way to package up the toxic loans and hand them on, hot-potato like, to other stooges, the world over!"
There were MANY to blame for the current housing & mortgage MESS, including "community agitators" who persuaded idiots like Carter to force banks to loan to people without good credit AND people who took on debts they could not afford. But the BANKs were not innocent and if you cannot see that, maybe you should get glasses. Furthermore, MANY innocent people are now sitting with houses under water BECAUSE of the housing meltdown and widespread loss of jobs.

And BTW, stop telling people to "shut your pie hole"--that is crude and unduly hostile. You should seek help with your hostility problem.

Even though I'm sick of RACE-BAITING & the like, as most other Americans no doubt are, the following news is just too funny to ignore:

"The NAACP has approved a resolution condemning what it calls "racist elements" in the labeling of a popular Irish beer. The vote has sparked a war of words between the black civil rights organization and Guinness & Company, the maker of Guinness Stout.

At the center of the controversy is NAACP objection to the use of the word “stout” to describe what some refer to as a black beer.

Guinness Stout beer is known for a distinctive dark color and a flavour derived from the use of roasted barley. The most popular beer in Ireland, the Guinness brand enjoys world wide sales totaling $4 billion U.S. dollars annually.

The fray began when NAACP President Benjamin Jealous overheard a patron at a hotel lobby bar ask a server for a black beer. Jealous took offense to what he called an obvious racial slur on the part of the customer purposely said in his presence.

Jealous was at the hotel for an NAACP meeting. It was latter [sic] that Jealous said he examined the label on the bottle of beer and saw it contained the “S” word.

"We must expel racism in every form,” said Jealous. “One cannot reasonably conclude that the use of the word “stout” on a beer that is black is an accident. We will no longer sit quietly and ignore the obvious.”

The NAACP resolution calls on Guinness & Co. “to immediately change the offensive labeling of the Guinness & Co. product Guinness Stout and to dedicate 2% of its advertising budget in the U.S. to promote racial sensitivity among Guinness customers.” "

These NAACP guys really need to "LIGHTEN UP"!! LOL.

What is the purpose of NAACP in this day and age? If they are just a "blacks-only club," why are they given tax-exempt status?

Everyone involved in this deplorable nightmare "acted stupidly"--from the top on down.

Although such rabble-rousing MOBS are ugly and disgusting, and straight out of Saul Alinsky's stinking handbook, you have to admit that CHASE BANKS (and many other greedy banksters) deserve to hear some angry screaming!

Even when the government has instructed the banks to help people during this DEPRESSION (not Recession), whose homes' values and income opportunities have plummeted (through NO fault of their own), CHASE and many others have done nothing to help their customers and instead keep offering them (including us) TEASER RATES TO REFINANCE MORTGAGES, with rates that are HIGHER than they offer others who walk in off the street and they want a lot of POINTS & FEES to refinance, even for top-quality customers. THE BANKS got "bailouts" but refuse to help out their customers, even when our society/economy is coming apart at the seams. THE BANKS made RECORD PROFITS, while their customers have suffered.

It's all a disgusting mess-- but MOBBING bank lobbies like they're doing in this video is not the solution. In fact, it was TACTICS LIKE THIS that "succeeded" (in the short run) in creating the SUBPRIME LOAN phenomenon that helped CREATE THE DISASTER in the housing market in the first place. Thanks a lot, Alinsky and the idiots who pressured banks to make loans to irresponsible people! And thanks a lot, Banksters & Wall Street who figured out a way to package up the toxic loans and hand them on, hot-potato like, to other stooges, the world over! It's hardly surprising that people are outraged and desperate: What does the current Administration plan to DO about this mess?

Am usually in Breitbart's corner on most of the things he does, but this time things are not so "black and white"--to use a bad pun. Have some questions and thoughts, and hope nobody's feelings get too incensed by them.

Whose idea was it to EDIT the video in the first place?
WHY didn't Breitbart play the entire story (not the full hour-plus video,
but the full "parable" of this woman's racism and how she ultimately
"saw the light" and realized that living with hatred was not the right way)?
(By the way, wasn't the harsh fact that her father was killed by a white man
(who apparently was not prosecuted) a relevant fact in her life that could
understandably taint her opinions toward white people--and make it all
the more poignant that eventually she rose above her prejudice?)

WHAT would have been the results, had Breitbart chosen to air the whole story?
People would have seen something POSITIVE HAPPENING IN AMERICAN RACE-RELATIONS!
Apparently, that would have SPOILT certain FACTIONS' desires to keep fomenting racial
strife and tensions in the USA. WHO or WHAT is Breitbart working FOR, anyway? Thought
he was working for an America that gets back on the right, healthy path, instead of the
MESS we have become. Is all this focus on RACE-BAITING really doing anything GOOD for us?

Let's hope Breitbart and everyone else has learned a lesson from this:
Don't be trying to PAINT PEOPLE INTO SOMETHING THAT FITS YOUR AGENDA.
EITHER LET THEM SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES, WITHIN CONTEXT, AND DON'T BE
TAKING THEIR REMARKS OUT OF CONTEXT. OR DON'T USE THEIR REMARKS AT ALL.

P.S.
And a couple final thoughts, since there is enough criticism/blame to go around:
The NAACP of late HAS seemed to be RACE-BAITING every chance it gets--which is a dead-end
street for most Americans as we are SICK of such manipulation.
Ms. Sherrod DID seem to ENJOY the trashing of "white folks" a bit much in the first part of her story!
The O-Administration DID "JUMP THE GUN" at firing her, without knowing the full story.
Many of us, self included, have allowed the relentless RACE-BAITING that's been going on,
in many venues, to tweak our sensibilities and arouse some kneejerk responses in
ourselves that in retrospect seem ill advised.

Maybe this whole unfortunate episode can eventually become, as the Great O might put it,
"a teachable moment"? Regardless of the outcome of this situation, I for one enjoyed
learning about this woman's background and the harsh realities she had endured as a
young black woman who lost her father (don't remember if she said WHAT MOTIVATED
the killing--whether the killer knew her father or not). Maybe it we had more opportunities
to see each other as HUMANS, each struggling to survive and grow, instead of simply
viewing each other as some COLOR or PROBLEM, we all might benefit.

In the meantime, wish we could get back to focusing on the real problems confronting us
and stop obsessing about RACE and COLOR. Thanks for listening and hope nobody's feelings
got too offended.

Just BUILD THE DAMNED FENCE! And send the illegals home! What is so HARD about that?

Oh, yeah, forgot: YOU NEED THESE ALIENS' VOTES IN ORDER TO STAY IN POWER.
