Might explain why Motorola appears to have virtually abandoned their non-"Droid" owners while frantically bending over backwards to keep Verizon/"Droid" customers happy - they figure the "Droid" is the most famous brand-name and it's the one most directly threatened by potential iPhone competition.

As another irritated "CLIQ™ with MOTOBLUR™ with Android 1.5" victim, I can't help feel a little schadenfreud here at the possibility that the Droid line might decline, at which point Motorola finds people on other carriers aren't going to come back to Motorola to make up the loss...

Seriously, Motorola treats us like a mushroom farm.[1] A lot of us aren't likely to ever trust Motorola brand products again, even if Android 2.1 aka "Motoblur Nuke'em Forever" is finally ever released. (Probably without notice, sometime AFTER a marketing campaign over the release of the "Charm"...)

All I can say is..[FORNICATE] YOU, MOTOROLA!...On behalf of all CLIQ owners still waiting for an update to anything even as recent as 1.6/Donut.

After becoming a "CLIQ with MOTOBLUR" victim, I'm not expecting to ever fall for a Motorola phone again. I keep finding things that Motorola has stripped out of the stock feature set, and am increasingly irritated by the silent-treatment we get while we wait for the mysteriously-eternally-delayed Android 2.1 upgrade (which I suspect is being eternally-delayed due to the time it's taking them to rip out standard features and replace them with marginally-working Special Motorola implementations instead).

Doubly so if their new phones have the same sort of anti-developer "consume-only" chip in them as the Droid X.
