Speaking of dog owners...you know those candid pictures of the Obamas "at home" in the White House? When was the last time you saw Bo in one of them? Bo's nothing but a prop, trotted out when they think it's time for another photo-op to show the peons what a nice family they are...dog and all. You could never get a picture of our family at home without the dog in it because she is always with the people who love her. Bo, not so much. That poor dog probably hasn't a clue who his people are. He gets shunted from one WH staffer to another and then hauled in on a leash when a canine presence is deemed necessary. That's cruelty, too.

Actually, there is a box...or at least there used to be. My parents had one for several years. In fact, I think they had to have a box for every television in the house. I've gotten the notebook in the mail, too, but I believe they use that data to determine statistical data about people, including how much television they watch, to potentially select people to send the box to. I'm almost certain my parents did the notebook before they got the box. They may also use that data as a second check to make sure they're still getting accurate info from the "box-holders." I'm not really sure how they make those decisions, but one day they just told my parents they were taking their box away and they did. No explanation. (My parents tend to leave their TV on all day long, even when nobody's watching, so that may have something to do with it.) Anyway...just thought I'd let you know. It's still really pathetic that she has to tell people to watch her show. It actually makes me feel sad for her.

This is so pathetic! The idea of a free market is to win others to you because you have something to offer that is perceived to be more valuable than what the viewer is perceived to spend to watch this program. She offers nothing. She pleads for viewers, but what is she offering? Her emotions? That's worth what? She has spent her worth when she used her show to endorse the very man who is responsible for the day to day misery we feel today. If she wants to keep OWN afloat (not literally), she will have to pony up to the table.

Having been married in Illinois, I can say it's even easier to get a license than you said. My wife and I went to the county seat for the town the ceremony was going to take place, filled out a form, and handed over something like $30. It was less complicated and cheaper than figuring out the stupid return envelope for the overpriced license plate tags. It took longer to walk from the parking lot to the appropriate office than it did to get approval.I think the blood test only enters if you're a second or third cousin or something.

It's not so much that the field itself, or training, is becoming "leftivised," but rather that leftists tend to be drawn to that kind of field. The training and education is stilled based very much on the science behind it. However, there are a lot of novice counselors who don't fully understand the education they're receiving, so they misinterpret/misunderstand what they're being taught. I see this everyday. A good analogy is if you've ever seen any of those nanny shows, the parents always claim they've used some technique (like timeouts) and that is doesn't work. Once the nanny gets in there and demonstrates the flaw in their application...no problem.

Actually, he HASN'T been there since 1998, when he resigned under pressure from what he currently refers to as "the establishment elite." While the Republicans held a majority for the four years prior to that, they actually made a lot of progress (even Wikipedia admits it). The problem is they won back their majority under a Democratic President. I think with him in the Presidency and a majority in both houses (with Tea Party Republicans) you would see a huge difference.

This is off topic but did you read this article "Cleveland councilman wants to pull Komen permit"? It seems a Cleveland Councilman named Zack Reed wants to pull the permit for the Breast Cancer march/event, because they stopped funding Planned Parenthood. This evil little troll, who obviously prefers the policies of death, aka abortion, to people fighting to find a cure for Cancer. He is about as vile a politician I have heard about in ages, aside from the usual.... If you live in Cleveland, you need to inundate the Mayor's office with your disgust...and hopefully they didn't go along with this creeps suggestion. Re: the painting which was the topic...I can't enlarge it enough but does it show clapping at something in the LR corner, and who is the other "clapper"?

I live in Washington state. We have no primary election this time, I have no vote. Our primary is always so late anyway, it makes no difference. All I have is my opinion. My opinion of Newt is he is a big government Progressive. (More of the same) My opinion of Mitt is he is Obama lite. (Less of the same) Ron Paul is 50% positive and 50% nut. I don't think he could abolish the Fed or pull ALL of our troops from foreign soil. He's too old for me. I wish he had more traction 20 years ago. He might have made a difference then. That leaves one. I really don't care if they go all the way to the Convention. Might be good for us, might be bad. I really don't know. All I know is my vote doesn't count until November. In the mean time, stock up on everything.

A fund raiser for Joe Wilson called me today, and I gave him an earful about the gop trying to force Romney down our throats....The guy said he had been talking to people "all day" and he knows that people are angry. I said, "Damn right"...we got the business in 2008 and the gop gave the election to BO.I also told him I'm not going to waste my money on people in DC doing nothing. He continued by hoping that I would support whoever is nominated by the gop as the best chance to beat Obama. Yeah sure!
