Just wanna throw this out for thought--

It was just a tribute performance to honor Tramaine Hawkins. I don't think that Anaysha, or anyone else who sang tributes to Tramaine, were looking to "sing like her," or "do it better than her." It's just an annual event where the gospel industry gathers to pay tribute to one another in song-- not about comparisons... all about celebration.

Hey man. It's totally a label decision. It happened with Le'Andria and Amber Bullock, too. The first EP appears to be a compilation of the same songs the person performed on Sunday Best. I'm sure she'll fall into her ACTUAL groove a bit more on the next EP. Judging by the way Music World has been cranking out the albums, that won't be long!

Umm... can you calm down? This post is from last year's awards show.

This year, Le'Andria performed "Jesus." She's NOT ELIGIBLE for an award this year, but I'm sure she'll get a nomination NEXT YEAR.

Y'Anna got an award. Le'Andria yells infinitely more than Y'Anna, but both are great vocalists deserving of awards.

Did you have to hate on one to celebrate the other? Geez.

No, when people say a vocalist is pitchy, it does not refer to "pitches that go well with the chord." That's 100% incorrect. Pitchy means sharp or flat. It's either under the correct pitch or below it. Has nothing to do with untrained ears-- it is a verifiable and mathematical truth. For example, if you are trying to sing an A below middle C, it will vibrate (its pitch) at a rate of 440 Hz. No more, no less. Any deviation from that is "pitchy."

I won't knock Andrea in this response, but I will say that she, like all of the contestants at some point, deals with pitch problems. Her tone, while pleasing to you, may not be pleasing to others because it has more vibrato (nearly tremolo) than a consistent straight tone. And, she has not really demonstrated an ability to control it at different points of the songs.

So, no-- this isn't about race-- it's about vocal ability, training and precision. And yes, God help us all.
