Well, if you really care about privacy on your web activities, shouldn't you be running through a VPN or anonymous proxy server? Make everything private, not just your Google sessions.

Frankly, unless you're doing the unsubsidized & unlocked model with a cheaper monthly rate deal on a Nexus One, and the same thing isn't available for the EVO 4G, I can't imagine why anyone would want the Nexus One over the EVO. Granted I haven't held one in my hand, so it might be a big ugly brick compared to the N1, but specs-wise, and based on video demos of the EVO, the EVO looks to be a much better device: bigger screen, 4G capability, built in connection sharing, and unlike the Nexus One, probably has a touchscreen that actually registers your touches properly.

Because in the real world, unlike Apple's little walled-garden world, not everyone has the same needs or tastes or desires for their hardware and software...

Every phone needs a hardware way to silence it in my opinion. A way to know, while it's in your pocket, that it's silent.

The camera button's not a big deal to me, but it's nice on the N1 to be able to use the trackball as a physical way of feeling the button while not looking at the screen.

I don't really see any need for a separate GPS button. You're getting into button overkill in my opinion.

That said, I wouldn't mind hard buttons on my N1 instead of the off-centered-touch-location soft home and other keys.

Doesn't anyone remember those Nexus One videos that Google posted showing the drop and bend tests. Takes an awful lot of bending on those things before they break. I was amazed at the flex.

Anyways, It's not just the screen cracked, the LCD underneath is as well. I just replaced a friend's cracked iPhone screen...there was no discoloration or LCD damage to his phone, the stuff underneath the top layer of glass was perfect.

Granted my friend's was a drop, not a sit on it, type incident.

I've got no beef in this either way, just devil's advocating here.
