Yeah, and combine the mullet/mohawk tent with free beer, and there were a lot of bad decisions made that day.

Pretty good incentive not to be last. I think there were Marines there as well, helping people, mostly women, clear the walls.

Glad you are doing some of the drills. A track is the best place to do them. We used to have a weekly track workout where we would incorporate the drills and some core exercises, and I really think they made a big difference in my running form. I wouldn't try to lengthen stride, focus more on a faster turnover. When people consciously lengthen their stride, they tend to overextend their legs and lead with their heel, which can cause all kinds of injuries. I hope this helps.

Kovas, thanks for the correction. I like both, but the karaoke is something I usually do after a long run to celebrate. I've changed it to carioca above.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a buzzard before. I haven't seen a mountain lion either, but they are around, some of the people I run with have seen them on the trails around my house.

I wasn't really thinking, the trail started wide then got narrower and narrower, then I saw the skin and thought maybe it wasn't such a good idea to continue. With all the small rodents out, I would hope that the snakes are well-fed, but still wouldn't want to step on one.

Thanks Stephie. That 44 mile run will be a great challenge, but being out on the trails makes the time and the distance go by faster. It will definitely be tough, but I think you'll find the payoff to far outweigh the suffering.
