Your comments are correct. He was not as inarticulate as portrayed and he did have political views that were perhaps confusing, but more aligned with government paranoia of the Tea Party then they would have us believe. But what is most troubling is the lack of ownership by the right. Let's face it, no The Tea Party didn’t tell him to do it, and there’s no direct evidence that he was listening to what they said or saw their signs, but shouldn’t they at least acknowledge the fact that he did what they’ve been promising to do? What Beck is up to is to create a cult like movement that will subvert the democratic process. You need only read his followers’ comments on this site http://wp.me/pNmlT-mI which is critical of Beck and his rally to see that it is already working. They are cult like in their blind adherence to the Beck doctrine, and this despite the fact that for some, like the Tea Party, Beck's worldview contradicts their core belief in the Founding Father’s who believed strongly in the separation of church and state! Their commentary provides all reasonable Americans with a stark reminder that unless we stand strong against demagogues like Beck and the type of movement he and the Tea Party represents, then the future of our Nation and our Democracy are in grave, grave danger.
