Yeah he might have been a saint, but I don't imagine there were that many people who came to visit him if they didn't have to.

My grand-daughter went for a desert walk and brought home a saber-toothed skull this week. It took a few google image searches to determine that she is the proud owner of a dead javelina's brainbox.

It is quite a skull and it definitely was the oversized fangs that threw us off on the ID search. (javelina are herbivores.) I didn't even think of that animal until after I checked out the pig skulls.

The grandbaby came home yesterday trying to convince me we needed the rest of the skeleton, but I told her "No, we don't live in an episode of Bones.".

I am surprised that Gef didn't become a movie....especially with the popularity of The Exorcist, Poltergeist, and The Amityville Horror.

Seems that a talking, wall-dwelling mongoose could become an instant cult classic.

I find all the attempts to "explain" these list entries rather comical and leave me wanting to slap my forehead.

In almost every "enlightened" commenter's list of explanations they have had to resort to baldly stating HOAX or BULLSHIT. Now what kind of EXPLANATION is that? I've heard greater intelligence flow forth from the mouths of 9 year old schoolyard bullies, and xenophobic rednecks.

But thanks for the "explanations" all. Now I can sleep soundly tonight.

If the existence of the Ourang Medan is under doubt, what about the existence of the ships who investigated? Wasn't an accurate lati/longi reading taken of the alleged mystery? Can't modern GPS and radar be used to locate such a wreckage?
