My grand-daughter went for a desert walk and brought home a saber-toothed skull this week. It took a few google image searches to determine that she is the proud owner of a dead javelina's brainbox.

It is quite a skull and it definitely was the oversized fangs that threw us off on the ID search. (javelina are herbivores.) I didn't even think of that animal until after I checked out the pig skulls.
