Thank you OCO for posting the link! Also, since we are posting links - for Purple Heart Recipients, or those injured during combat, you are able to apply for a mortgage free home at: <a href="http://www.militarywarriors.org" target="_blank">www.militarywarriors.org This is how we got our current home! God bless you and thank you to those who served!

My husband and I have entered EVERY day from Dec 29th until today. Not sure what to do tomorrow? Guess we will just watch the HGTV DREAM HOME SPECIAL...again...and again...and again...I have entered the HGTV Dream Home every year for 20 years, but not EVERY day. This time, it is different. This is THE dreamiest DREAM home HGTV has EVER had! This home couldn't be more perfect for us! We currently live in Florida (around 3 1/2 hours from Merritt Island) - so moving would be convenient. The ironic thing is that we were targeting to move to Merritt Island, FL less than 3 years ago, but a turn of events changed things. So many "God winks" about this house...too little time to get into it on this blog. When we did move to Florida from Louisiana, we sold everything and started from scratch...so we are not "attached" to our belongings - this means we would easily transition into this beautifully furnished home. My husband is a disabled veteran, and is exempt from Florida property taxes, so another step in the affordability of this home for us. Our current home was gifted to us by the Military Warrior Support Foundation, so we would be able to return the home to re-gift it to another veteran in need! #doubleblessing. With God's help, we have also figured out a plan for the income taxes on this package (our guess is it will cost around $700,000 in taxes). OUR GOAL is to be the FIRST winner to ever successfully LIVE in the HGTV Dream Home and NOT sell it! #withgodallthingsarepossible

Only 1 more entry tomorrow for each of us. My husband and I have both entered the sweepstakes EVERY day on the HGTV site as well as the DIY site (plus the initial bonus entries on the REALTOR.com site)...March will be a long month...

We (my husband and I) LOVE it all. It's as though Brian Flynn (and the others involved) took a peek in our heads, and created our perfect home! It's kind of crazy. It has EVERYTHING from our "wish" list. We love Coastal decor, blues, grays. (That is the color scheme of our current home). We are not a fan of carpet and this home is carpet free - oh, and the floors are the EXACT ones we would have picked. Several years ago, my husband said that one day, he would love a palm tree lined circular driveway. I have always wanted high ceilings, my husband has always wanted a big garage... I won't bore you with the rest, but the list goes on and on...including the fact that 2 1/2 years ago my husband retired from the military (due to a TBI/PTSD while in Iraq). We planned to move from Louisiana and move to (yes, you guessed it) Merritt Island, FL. The water is very calming for my husband. We ended up NOT moving to Merritt Island, but Port Charlotte, FL instead because we were gifted a house by the Military Warrior Support Foundation. If we were to win the 2016 Dream Home, the beautiful thing is that we could re-gift our home to another veteran in need. (This is when "re-gifting" would be a GOOD thing). I have entered the HGTV dream home contest at least once every year for the past 20 years, but THIS home is different. I cried when I saw it, because it is so perfect. I know there will be "nay-sayers" who don't believe this post, but we know the truth and somehow in our hearts we feel that this home is meant to be ours. We have "DVR'ed" the 2016 HGTV Dream Home Special, which I didn't know I could do, but yay it worked! My husband and I have watched it over and over and over again. We can quote David Bromstad, Brian Patrick Flynn, Josh Temple and even Steve the builder and Rhonda the realtor! LOL So as Josh said, "this is not the in pretty good shape show, this is the HGTV Dream Home 2016". It is OUR DREAM for sure.
