Woman, fighter, lover, defender, honest.

This was an interesting one for me, because I haven't really thought of myself in terms of titles before. Describing myself, sure, but honestly I didn't have any automatic responses when it came to titles. It took me a while to switch into titles, but then the only thing that came to me at first was woman and fighter....the rest came later, after I went back to thinking of descriptions of myself and then took the first three and tried to turn them into titles.

Honest isn't a title. I get that. But it's more me than any other label or title anyone could have ever come up with for me.

I spent my entire high school career with the intentions of joining a sorority as soon as I entered university. In fact, I had already picked one out: AKA. My friends older sister went to school in ATL and was a part of AKA and my plans were to be just like her! Boy, was I ever mistaken. Because, sadly, the greek life doesn't exist in Canada. Not really. I've heard of one sorority and one frat that you can join only through one Uni, but otherwise you're SOL. So, I guess I can't speak from experience, but I can say that even at 26 I still want to join a sorority. The idea of sisterhood and community, a group of like minded individuals, being part of a group that has a strong historical background, significance, traditions, secrets and symbols and calls to signal to other members that you belong....I don't know, the whole thing appeals to me. If I ever have the opportunity I know that I would pledge. I'd do my research and make sure it was a group that I was proud to be a part of, that represented me and my views, of course.

And I'm certainly not a follower, for clarification. I believe, based on whatever knowledge I do have about them and from a few friends and family members who went over to the states and joined in to the Greek life, that you can maintain being an individual while meshing with the group. The key is to be part of a group that already well represents you so there is no need to try and change for them IMO.

Funny, I was honestly wondering where DC Man was at as well. He's one of my favorite commenters to read while I skulk in the dark recesses of NWSO.net :$

I think she needed some space to deal with his arrest and the new situation that they were in now. Even if he was innocent and she would have come to believe him eventually, it's still a hard blow to have someone you love arrested. He had no respect for her or the fact that she needed some time. And then to viciously turn against her, speaking to her in such a degrading manner? If she had been on the fence figuring out whether or not she could deal with this, and support him through this, it was pretty reasonable IMO for her to fall to the side of 'no' when he snapped like this. Clearly he wasn't going to be very supportive or reassuring to her. And I think as many people have said this definitely shows a more angry and mean character especially under pressure. Why should she have been so understanding when clearly he wasn't? Honestly, I'm pretty sure given the info we have that if I was in the same situation I would have walked away and counted myself lucky I found out he had that kinda ugly underneath his perfect looking persona before things got more serious.

And while I agree with you that she shouldn't be worrying about what other people have to say, it's different if your personal life could affect your professional success. If it would compromise her position with the company if they found out she was dating someone who was incarcerated or who had a felony on his record then it might be a good reason for her to think twice about staying with him.
