I am awaiting the John Edwards-Rielle Hunter tape.
It seems Iran's leaders like to stake out the most outrageous propaganda position just to communicate they will not follow America's line -- much as the Soviet Union used to do -- twist the truth beyond recognition and refuse to concede even the most basic foundational fact.
The prevalence of "Sarah Palin derangement syndrome" among the elitists in the media is even more prevalent now than it was while Palin was still serving as Governor of Alaska. I do not expect Governor Palin to run for President and I continue to be amazed at how the mainstream media people are obsessed with her. I agree with comments above to the effect that those on the left project their own evil traits onto those whom they attack.
Obama's world view owes much to the late Edward Said professor at Columbia and perhaps best known for his 1978 book "Orientalism". Professor Said's view was the the nations of the West were colonial oppressors vis a vis the Arab world in the past and remained enemies of the Arab world in the present. As such the motives, aims and actions of the nations of the West were seen by Said as tainted and malign. If Said were alive I think he would be pleased with the approach President Obama is taking (or striving mightily to persuade America that the Islamists are the good guys and Israel is suspect), although Said would probably say Obama is not going far enough. Pamela Geller regards Obama's approach to the middle east as being dangerous for Israel and on that she and I agree.
The Emperor that is the mainstream media has no clothes, a fact that has been evident to most American adults for decades. The people who do not recognize it (as distinguished from people who pretend they do not recognize it) are few and far between.
The song is outstanding, especially the lyrics.
I enjoyed this piece greatly and especially the video of Andrew Brietbart eviscerating David Shuster on national television. I had not seen the video before, thank you for including it here!
Eugenics was very popular in "progressive" political circles on both sides of the Atlantic for the first four decades of the 20th century.. George Bernard Shaw had plenty of company in supporting the pro-Eugenics position, including a majority of the United States Supreme Court in an opinion by Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. upholding the sterilisation of the "feeble-minded" with a ringing phrase "three generations of imbeciles is enough". It was decades later the court decided that the right to reproduce was protected. I agree with Alicia's statement the New York Times used to be recognized for having high standards. I recall reading it avidly in the 1970s and even as recently as the early 1990s I read it for its thorough international coverage. Why naked, vicious, biased dishonest "reporting" became accepted at the Times I do not know -- but accepted it is.
