I'm all about leftover rice. We eat lots of rice (big fans of Indian and Thai food here), and sometimes there is rice left. I use the leftover rice to make fried rice (add veggies, soy sauce, eggs, and maybe some meat if you want) or rice & beans with canned beans. Maybe I'm terrible for using canned beans, but they sure are nice when you need something right now and you don't have time to soak beans.

Also, rice is so easy on the stove, we don't bother with a rice cooker. Saute rice in oil, add twice as much water as rice, bring to a boil, then turn to simmer. Cover and cook for 23 minutes. (My husband swears 23 minutes is the magic time.)

We did build a small business with credit and debt. Ugh, how we wish we hadn't. I guess in some ways it helped us get going faster, but now we have a crapload of debt we're working our butts off trying to get rid of. Thankfully we're still in business nine years later, but I have to work another full-time job in order to earn enough money to pay off the debt, while my husband runs the business and I work for him part-time. There might be a good reason to go into debt to start a business, but I sure can't think of what it might be.

Technically, Dave Ramsey says that "money fights" are the biggest cause of divorce. Not money. So I think you probably agree with him more than you think you do. (:

1. I have probably been reading your blog for about three to six months. Actually, I just made that up. I honestly don't have any idea. Sorry. That lame answer is going to totally screw with your statistics, isn't it?
2. Lovin' the comics at the top of each post.
3. Being that I was an English major in college and taught middle and high school English for six years, the spelling and grammar errors drive me a little bit crazy... but I can put up with it because I enjoy the content.
4. Alcoholic? Margarita or Amaretto Sour. Non-alcoholic? Water or milk (preferably with Hershey's chocolate syrup in it. Mmmm.)
5. Naturally.

I would love to file right away, but since hubby has his own business, much work must be done to get things ready and we often wait a while. Had a professional accountant do our taxes this year for the first time in forever, and found out we had been doing the business taxes wrong for the last 3 years or so, resulting in a sizeable refund for us. Hooray! Because the last several years we've had to pay out the nose in taxes. And while I agree that loaning the gov't money interest free is no good, it's also no good to have to put your tax payment on a credit card, which is what we'd had to do a few times. Suck-o-rama.
