So, so, Soooooooo much red herring here! Holy cow I don't even know where to start! I
I'm going to preface this by saying that I grew up around guns. Guns for hunting. Guns for fun. Shots guns, rifles, pistols. To a certain degree I am a urban gun nut. Both my husband and I grew up rural and enjoy shooting guns. Now that we are adults, live in the city and have kids we do not have guns in the house, we have never once in the 14 years of living in the city felt the need. We feel that since we do not hunt, we do not have a context for teaching our children how to handle guns as tools rather than weapons. We still like shooting, we're a little redneck like that.
So all that being said you are going to show me a video of a bunch of people who clearly do not handle or use guns with any level of proficiency get knocked over by the kick of a shotgun and tell me that what they need is a different gun, a more powerful, lethal weapon, to make them a better marksman? REALLY?!? I would argue, after watching this video, that each and every one of them needs to get into a firearms safety class before they are ever allowed to touch ANY firearm again. When we were kids the first guns we were given were shotguns and .22's. First you learned how to control the kick on a shotgun(and by the way, if I felt compelled to get a gun for home protection, it would most certainly be a shotgun. A shotgun does not require the level of precision that a rifle or a handgun requires to make an impact. It will not penetrate the walls of my home thus putting my neighbors at risk. It does require some PRACTICE to gain control over kick.) Then you learned how to use sights with a .22. All the serious marksmen in my life have taken years worth of classes for concealed weapons training and firearms training. Why? Because they are intelligent responsible people who take responsibility for their actions.
What this kind of nonsense is advocating is completely irresponsible if your lucky, and extremely dangerous if you're not.

My father is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe and I am a registered descendant. I invite you to google the Marias Massacre(it's eerily similar to wounded knee) and Starvation Winter. And those are just 2 incidents involving one tribe.
Indeed that man was shouting obscenities, but I think that's a vast improvement to being thrown on an open fire with the other infants and children from your clan while your mothers are raped and killed, don't you?
What is truly appalling here is your ignorance.

Um, wow....
So when an older teenage boy kills another teenage boy for his iPhone who is to blame? Steve Jobs? Focus on the Family?
Seriously, where do you get this stuff? Is this your own spurious leap or did are you regurgitating someone else's vague ramblings?

Costco, huh? I have a friend that would be shocked. How could the company that has employed him for nearly 20 years back the horror, the HORROR, of gay marriage.

My husband says the same about flying east; we're in Portland. Cheers to cross continental travel! Thanks for posting the list.

If unsafe sex with multiple partners is the cause then one of the solutions would be to promote monogamy as well as safe sex.
So if we would like to promote monogamy maybe we should let gay people get married?

Why is everything "apples and oranges" when it doesn't fit your "theory" of causation?
Seriously, you do this over and over. Boys shouldn't dress as girls(unless they are kilt wearers, then skirts are acceptable, but that's really an aside), but if a girl prefers boy clothes it's not as big a problem.
Feminists are to blame for the objectivication of women, men bear no consequences to their thoughts or actions.
Abortion is bad, but universal health care and a living wage are socialism....
I could go on for while, but I need to make my undoubtedly miscreant liberal children an after school snack.

I thought that mostly plane crashes and stranded wagon trains led to cannibalism... you know sprinkling in a psychopath here and there.

"Feminism turns women into sexual objects and offers men the fantasy of consequence free sex through abortion without restrictions."

You HAVE to be smarter than is.... don't you? Please reread that statement and really think about what it says....
So unless men are living in fear of getting some girl knocked up and having to support the child they are in no way beholden keep it in their pants and shouldn't be expected to? They have carte blanche to treat women like a gym sock laying on the floor of their teenage bedroom? They are completely absolved of any responsibility in the sexual choices they make AND it's those damn feminist's fault.
If this is how you and Cmorplante "get" it, then am I ever glad you are not my daughter's daddy.

Seriously, the politics of division are alive and well here, Todd. Keep railing on divisive issues that have no chance of ever reaching a consensus point. Keep the country divided. It's what big government and corporations want. They can push through bills that will make them millions and keep everyone below them tethered as long as we focus on 2 or 3 issues we will never agree on. Woo hoo! All hail the system!
Just freaking let the gays get married and let's move on to keeping our country alive and prosperous, shall we?
