This post speaks to me in a couple of ways.

First of all, I'm a college student trying to balance a part-time job serving in a restaurant and also trying to begin his writing career.

On a slow night, I struggle with feeling that working is a server is a waste of time. I'm not making money, I'm not influencing guests, and I could be doing better things. However, I think God uses those moments to open up opportunities for discussions of faith with fellow workers, who I know are not Christians.

Before each shift, I should start praying two things: That my production as a writer would become financially fulfilling enough for me to quit serving, and opportunities to share my faith would be presented often while at work.

I would also add the importance of good website design and page-load speed. Nobody will subscribe to a blog that takes 10 seconds to load and looks terrible. Great post by the way!

I agree that repentance is a beneficial quality for those of us who have something to repent against, such as David. God's own heart cannot be repentant because he has never had something to repent against, which means it is not a quality that could be "after his own heart."

How could God's own heart be repentant if he has never needed to repent?
