I live in Erie. I had a fracking well out in the field behind my house for over thirteen years. I sure do miss that fracking well. They pulled it out a few years ago to put in a new subdivision. Giant earth movers, constant dust, the model homes brightly lit 24x7 so my nights are turned into day, the constant rat-a-tat of pounding hammers and the whine of drills, and when it's all done I'll have neighbors, lots of neighbors, packed so closely there's no daylight between the homes.

The fracking well was noisy for a week every few years when they'd refrack, and other than that it was peaceful, silent, and dark. I miss the fracking well. I'd trade a fracking well for that new subdivision anytime. Count your blessings, Ms. Newton!
